Joe's Eco Sealant

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Thumbs up to Joe's Eco Sealant, been running it in my tyres for a while now. I managed to pick up four thorns the other day when I accidently ran off a track, It took a little while, about 30 mins all up I'd say, but Joe's sealed all the holes and the tyre is holding air fine.

27.5 rear wheel

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I have a giant trance sx that I use for all mountain riding. Back wheel has gone a bit egg shaped after a few medium sized drops. I am clueless / uninterested in gear specs. Basically I want a good solid wheel that can handle some abuse and is reasonably priced. Any suggestions greatly appreciated, thanks

Frameskin Fitting

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Has anyone got any experience with letting a shop apply a frameskin here in Sydney? I have read that Alan from frameskin does actually fit these for a reasonable fee and apparently does a flawless job but he's down in Canberra. Looking for actual experience recommendations please, if not, I may have a pop at it myself.

Cheers

What to clean my brake calipers with?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Guys any recommendations as to what to use to clean my calipers?
I have a bit of brake drag and assume the pistons aren't going back all the way.
Want to give them a thorough clean but always wary of contaminating them.
Cheers

Review: Absolute Black oval chainring

I bought one of the Absolute Black oval chainrings a few months ago and got around to fitting it recently (broke my hand so been off the bike).

See product here on Chain Reaction:
http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/au/en/black-b...

First up, I got the 32 tooth version. This is 34T in the 'power' zone and 30T in the 'weak' zone as you pedal. I normally run a 32T ring.

Grips

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi Guys, looking for recommendations on new grips. My Giant Trance grips are almost worn through after only 5 months. Most my rides are 60km XC rides around Terrey Hills or Manly Dam for a few laps.

Cheers

HT plus LT dually, or do it all FS bike?

Hi all, I'm after opinions to help work through a new bike choice.

I'm thinking about getting a new bike later in the year and I'm having trouble deciding what way to go. Mostly the choice centres around how much travel to get, so I'm not after advice on what bike model/brand is better.

Track pump recommendation

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

I'm after a decent track pump that is both high volume for mtb but also does high pressure for the road bike. One with a gauge would be good too.

What do you recommend?

Looking for some info bought a bike new 3months ago with these brakes on it they work great as good as or better than my old xt set up.

question is as I didn't get any paper work about how to adjust these brakes how dose the pad adjustment work

I have wound the wheel on the lever both ways fully makes no change to how much travel it takes for the lever to engage the pads.
I removed the pads the other day and noticed i had 3 out of 4 sticky pistons in the calliper so exercised them until they are working again but still the pad adjustment wheel makes no difference.

Thanks

Duncan

Norco Sight 7.1 v Nukeproof Mega TR

I'm currently on a cheap 29" hardtail and after a few journeys over the bars am looking for something that will allow me to hack down hill with more confidence, yet be ok on the flats and back up too.
After looking at and riding a few different 27.5 dual suspension models including Giant Trance, Scott etc, I'm leaning toward either the Norco Sight 7.1Alloy or the Nukeproof Mega TR Race. Both around 3.2K - 3.5K
