When:
Sunday, 28 June, 2015 - 13:00
Ride Database Entry:
Kinross State Forest
Meeting Point:

The city of Orange is around 4 hrs from Sydney and 3 hrs from Canberra. Kinross State Forest is situated on the northeast edge of town, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute ride from the Orange town centre.

Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest.

Drive out from Orange on the Ophir Rd, before you reach the rubbish tip, turn right onto Bulgas Rd. Follow this about 2km to the forest (the road turns to gravel).

Note that the 'Directions there' google maps link below may not give the best route/destination. It seems that google maps ignores Bulgas Rd when selecting a route and gives the next closest spot. The 'Meeting point' link should be correct.

Yellomundee Track Maintenance morning
this Saturday 16th May, 8am start. All welcome!

With our next scheduled club round for this Sunday 17th May, and with the recent weather giving the track a hard time over the past 2-3 weeks ..... We need to give it another quick tidy up to make sure we are ready to race.

Starting a little earlier than normal (so that everyone can meet their other commitments) and we need helpers with cutters, line trimmers, shovels, wheel barrows etc.
For safety, please wear boots, long trousers, gloves and a hat.

We need to build some bridges (board walk really) across some bits that can get boggy.

If there's extra people we'll find some digging to do. You can stay and have a ride afterwards too. Let us know if you're thinking of coming so we get an idea of numbers (if you don't let us know then you can still turn up).

Access for the site is through the scout camp, please drive very slowly and be considerate through here.

Big thanks to Leo for all the expertise and design.

Start at 8:00am at the southern end of Barnet St, (below the oval).

Plan is to try and complete the new track we started at the last build day. With enough volunteers we could also start the new alignment for the last closure we did last year. This will help establish the mapped XC circuit.

Blue Mountains City Council have hired Adrian from Synergy to lead the Maintenance days.

Trail maintenance will only run for 4hrs. To get the most out of it, please arrive early and be ready to start.

OK Back in the day... well, just 4 years ago really, we use to run mini DH of a Tuesday afternoon before XC and I've been wanting to start that back up as it got both sides of the the club together for a bit of fun as well as offering a bit more of a regular thing for the DH riders and a good light option for beginners.

Trails like Acid Bomb and Fordy's were modified sections of the XC loop. They weren't that steep or Technical but were a bit of fun.
.

It will be $5 for club members. $10 for non members + day license fees.

Unfortunately I can't make it but there is a bit of work needed to tidy up the trail for the sheep station.

So I'm hoping a few of you can get together on Saturday and chip in a few hours of grooming.

Attached is an image of the loop with what work is needed in order of priority

for the most part the regular loop just needs a rake or leaf blower put over it to pretty it up.
