AM riding: Avid Elixir 'v' Juicy 7

For an All Mountain bike with 185mm disc front and 160mm rear... would you rather use Juicy 7s or Elixir R? Has anyone ridden both on a similar bike to compare?
The point being, I was going to pick up some more 7s for another build but thanks to someone here will pick up some Elixir cheaper so now have a set of each and using the Elixir on my 575 becomes an option.
I'm really very happy with the 7s to be honest and think I'll keep them where they are. That is unless anyone has a good reason to try the Elixir on Mr Yeti?

Rob, i recently moved to Chicago and was down riding in indiana where I ran into a Sram employee who couldnt stop banging on about the elixir CRs. According to this guy they are going to be using this taperbore design more and more and phase out the older resivoir design. I had a quick ride on his bike and the feel was great from these brakes not grabby but heaps of power and modulation.
Suffice to say I am saving my hard earned US pesos for a new set of Elixirs.

I just got new bike (Anthem X2) with the bottom of the line Elixir 5s. They are much better then the Juicy 5s on my other bike. Can't really describe why other than they feel nice seem to have more stopping power.
Some back ground of what I ride first,
Anthem X with Juicy Ultimates
Giant Reign with Juicy Cabons
Giant Glory with CODES
Intense M6 with elixir CR rear and elixir CR front lever and Code calliper.
Elixirs power sit right in between Juicy 7s/Carbons and Codes. They dont have as much power as the Code but have far better modulation. Setup of the elixir is just as easy and bleeding is similar to the Juicys but far easier than Codes.
If it was me buying new brakes for any of my bikes I would buy the Elixir CRs.
I just had my Elixir cr's changed over to SLX due to constant brake draggng on the disc under load on My Anthem X1 and i haven't looked back , Better feel and power AND no rubbing whatsoever . Ant the good thing was that My Bike shop , Onya Bike at Belconnen (Act) were fantastic and tried everything to help , it took a bit of trial and error and even put brand new Elixirs on but ended up with new SLX as there is more pad clearance .
Apart from my RH lever having a ghetto return spring (elastic band) courtesy of the little 10C plastic clip breaking/wearing out after 10 rides, I love my CRs. However I also liked the feel of the Deore brakes on my old bike.
Rob, I'm running 160 mm rotors front and back on the Jeti, and no stopping issues yet. 185's will be awesome, but make sure to use the G3 rotors G2 are not supposed to clear well enough with the tight clearance design of the Elixir caliper.
I know Wayne's had heaps of problems with his CRs, and I had similar with mine when changing wheels. My problem was caused by turning the pad contact adjuster the wrong way. Arrow marking is intuitively reversed.
Tapebore really lets you keep the lever in close without running out of travel and hitting the bars.

Go the Elixirs....they definitely do feel good. Having come from a set of shimano brakes for 5+ years i must say they are a good brake.
Give em a shot see how you go, if your not happy then you can put them on that worn out cannondale
Elixir heaven. I got myself a set of the base model Elixir R's a few months ago and they rock my world. Best money I have spent on my bike so far.
