Elixir <> Juicy hose swap?

So... I've purchased a set of ElixirR brakes and fitted the front one to the Yeti - all good.

Ah... but then came to fit the rear and discovered the hose is around 20cm shorter than that on the Juicy 7 that's coming off there. Doh!

AM riding: Avid Elixir 'v' Juicy 7

For an All Mountain bike with 185mm disc front and 160mm rear... would you rather use Juicy 7s or Elixir R? Has anyone ridden both on a similar bike to compare?

The point being, I was going to pick up some more 7s for another build but thanks to someone here will pick up some Elixir cheaper so now have a set of each and using the Elixir on my 575 becomes an option.

I'm really very happy with the 7s to be honest and think I'll keep them where they are. That is unless anyone has a good reason to try the Elixir on Mr Yeti?

Opinions?

CenterLock Disc Rotors with Avid Brakes and installation...

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

After a bit more research.. a few more questions:

Has anybody experience with centerlock disc rotors with Avid brakes? Shimano obviously says use centerlock rotors only with Shimano brakes...
What rotor brand did you use?

I could find Avid rotors on CRC in 185 (Shimano apparently only has 180...).
The only 203 I could find was from Shimano.

Do I need a special tool to install the centerlock rotors? Got the impression but couldn't find any conclusive information.
What is it called? Any shop recommendation?

Thanks
Sascha

Cheap Avid Bleed Kit?

Anyone know of such a product?

I'm not really that keen on paying $60 for a couple of syringes and some plugs..... (http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?M...)

I know Alligator made a universal one that T7 used to sell, but it couldn't do Avids. Surely someone else makes some cheaper aftermarket kits?

I found these Formula bleed kits which apparently do Avids as well, can anyone confirm? http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?M...

They are a fair whack cheaper at $26 too.

Any help would be great thanks, my elixirs need bleeding....

Should I get some Elixirs?

I'm interested in upgrading my brakes from Juicy 3s to possibly the new Avid Elixir R. Not being the biggest tech head I was wondering if i could get some advice first.
- Will this be a worthwhile upgrade or should I save my pennies for something better?

I have spotted this set on e-bay for what I consider a decent price ($300AUD inc postage) but am a bit concerned about a few things:

Avid Matchmaker

Anyone considering moving their Avid levers/SRAM triggers around (like me - gonna put the brakes inboard) might be interested in this little Avid Matchmaker thing I just noticed. Didn't see it before, perhaps I'm just slow.

No, it's not some kind of super keen cupid, it's a single mount that both Avid Levers and SRAM shifters can hang from. Found a nice picture here on NSMB:

Hmmmm... Ultimate and X0.... Sticking out tongue

You can even hang pop-loc remote switches off these two, as this page shows:
