Good little article by Kingy in the current issue of Revolution

It's about adopting a trail that you ride
By that he means not being afraid to perform a bit of maintenance when needed
And being a giver to your trails, not just a taker
Everyone here should give it a read and 'adopt' at least some of the attitude expressed
Plus it's a great little independent mag that needs our support

Anyway, I know myself that sometimes I've only got a short period of time to fit in a ride
So I'll ride past things that need to be done
But occasionally, I like to include in my ride a bit of a fix up

We all know a well crafted and maintained trail has bugger all environmental impact
We all love living and riding in the bush and it's up to all of us to maintain it
So it's a positive addition to the environment rather than a negative

OK. I'll get off my soap box now
But don't wait for the OK to fix that berm, replace that rock, or fill that hole
Think for yourself and just do it

Definately a good idea. Nice to see Kingy is putting an idea like that out there.

I remember fixing a part of a rock garden at You Yangs... noticed it was stuffed in the morning but didn't get back up that hill till later i the day. In the meantime no one else had fixed it despite quite a few riders being around. So I did it, took maybe 10 minutes, some dirty hands and some scrapes and convincing my friend that it was worth the effort, but I proceeded to ride it a few times for the next hour and the track rode like it was meant too and wouldn't erode. Simple.

I think having a garbage bag in the backpack may become a useful thing with the snake bandages. Been carrying out rubbish and helping keep walking tracks open for years as do a few other walkers so I guess this is pretty much the same mentality.

I read about your efforts down there, Todd. Excellent work
I don't think there's a better way to get people onside than treat the trails like they're your backyard
Let it be known and others will follow

Next time you're up this way
get Mel to send me a text and i'll meet up if I can

At my request, Joey was good enough to give me some MTB instruction at Scribbs the other day
how to pop off some of those lips without casing my rear all the time
And lean my bike into turns more
Hanging to get out there and practice it - I need all the practice I can get

BTW, looks like a NoBMoB ride at the Oaks on Saturday if anyone's interested
Big Chuck expressed interest
Worth it every so often for the single track
But that grind up the hill back to Woodford - UGHH
