Wow... that looks nice. That fork is a pretty good match with the paint job, eh?

Will this ever get knobbies and an outing on the dirt? Bet it would be good on a nice fast course without many hills.

Hey Rob

The intention is that it's only for commuting but, you never know...

I looked at getting a Yeti Big Top 29er but would have needed to get a different set of wheels to be able to go off road. The SpeedCity wheels I have could potentially take 29 inch rubber but they are very narrow so to be honest I would have really needed to use cyclocross tyres instead. That would have been a bit weird looking ... ( maybe not as weird as a 575 with 700 x 25c Durano's though). I also looked at getting a steel frame Niner ( SIR 9 ) or the scandium one ( AIR 9) but the guys at Dirtworks wouldn't let me buy one through CBD ( the guys at CBD have looked after me really well and I was only really interested in getting a bike through them). As mentioned elsewhere, I love Yeti's and the local support from Paul Rowney so in the end, the ARC was a logical choice.

I'm biased obviously but I think it looks beautiful !

It's been a long time since I've ridden a fully rigid bike and I've got to say it took me a couple of rides to get used to it again. Combined with skinny tyres at 120psi, it's very...ahem...direct. It climbs like a rat up a drainpipe however.

I think if I was going to ride it off road, it'd have to be very smooth or I'd take the revelation off the 575 and throw it on the ARC...... now that would be interesting !

... and Dirtworks' loss. Good on you for sticking to your guns and backing your bike shop of choice.

That is one sweet bike. Smiling

Sorry... Haven't been on the forum for a while.

Just got home from a short break and found my garage has been broken into and both my Yeti's have been nicked.

Very, Very upset. I'm not typically a sentimental person, but both these bikes mean a lot to me.

The 575 is a 2008 medium in Pewter in ' RACE ' Spec ( X0, XT, Thompson, Easton etc. ) but with Crossmax ST wheels

The ARC is as shown above. It was specced up from scratch and as you can see, it is pretty distinctive.

The thief / thieves / Ba$tards appear to have specifically broken in to get the bikes. They were shackled to a wall mounted bracket with heavy duty Abus Cable locks. The whole bracket was forced off of the wall ( I had drilled out the slots in the screw heads so they could not be removed with a screwdriver ). There was no sign of the cable locks and brackets so I can only assume that they couldn't break the cable locks and just took the whole lot out in one go......

Anyway.... I just wanted to give you guys a heads up that there are thieves around and to ask the community to keep an eye out in case someone tries to offload them locally....

Hope you've reported the serial numbers to the boys in blue.

You're right they're distinctive. I saw you a month or so ago turning right into Clarence off Market. I was going to call out but you had a taxi up your date, didn;t want to distract you.

Will keep an eye out. What scum. Sad

Maaaaate gutted for you!

See you all the time around the city on the Arc. The Arc is a rare sight and with that Niner fork it's instantly recognisable! I'll go punch the c#nt out for you next time I see it.

bikes by far sting the most when they are flogged.
