Q: how techy is it?

Erm... about on par with some sections Manly Dam (the rock steps by the golf course, the C/D line on the 19th hole)? Only depending on where you go there are more tech. sections at Yellomundee I don't mean that it's any harder, just there are more of them. There's some really nice challenging climbs and stuff like that.

Q: is it a trail i can get lost in?

Probably Eye-wink With most trails, best to take a guide on your first visit. It's a nice track - I'm sure anyone would like to show you around if you post that ride up and ask for help.

Yellomundee is awesome ! it's made up of 2 loops of single track that meet at a large clearing in the middle ,1st loop is the most tecnical but 2nd loop is pretty easy . You can also exit onto the fire trail half way along the first loop if u finding it a bit tough .Well worth a vist ,we loved it .

Its a nice ride, i did it for the first time about 6 months ago i just drove out parked and took off didn't have a map or anything and seemed to get around ok. Take it easy and explore.

This is a great place for everyone, newcomers included. I ride here a lot and often at night. Now that daylight saving is about to start I'll ride here regularly, mostly weekend afternoons which kinda becomes a night ride. Lights aren't essential as one can ride heaps before the proper blackness sets in.
Don't be intimidated by any technical parts. Most is happy, fun ridin' single track so get into it.
So, those wishing to join me...well, you know how to find me.

The downhill technical sections arn't that bad and can be rolled over, if your not confident with any part just walk your bike over it. There are a few tecnical climbs which can be tricky.
Majority of the track is very easy riding. Its when your pushing out the race speed it becomes I bit more difficult. It can get a little difficult finding the right trails/direction. Best to put a ride up and ask for a guide. Someone will join you and show you around.

we've been out there quiet a few times with a large group of riders from 7 year old kids to fast riders. You can pick and choose how far you want to ride and you can also elect to bypass the climb up which does lead onto some technical sections, however there is no shame in walking the technical sections until you build up your skills to give it a go. You can't really get lost out there as they tracks are pretty well worn in and obvious however it can be tricky to find the start of the full loop (so just watch were everyone is riding from or ask). I'm sure Ray will be online soon and tell you to come on out and see what a great track it is Smiling
next few weekends are out for me but happy to join you mid/end Oct for a ride.
