Yes, I have to put this up on the front page... will do this later today. It will be something we will need numbers for.
Have a meeting with council as well before then and I know they have meetings with other parties so it will be interesting to see how it will all go.
I've just emailed the list ... will also update the RB thread ...
nice of "them" to give us a bit of warning.
Just send my rsvp so count me in to attend will try and drum up as many as I can to attend.
I'll be there. My consolidated leave is copping a hammering! (You beauty!)
is there an actual staff report ??? I had thought it all stopped with Soren going on leave ... and that was the reason for the extension supposedly requested in Sep ?
Sorry I should know this ... I obviously missed something from the last meeting.
From what I can gather its all going ahead, the last council meeting was just to get an extension for adequate time for the "community consultation" phase.
I have put this up in news and will post in the calendar so will get this thread shut down.
Posted in the other threads as well, but I'm in! See you there (if not beforehand).
BMORC reps met with Matt Chambers ... (not Michael d'oh) today at Knapsack and he is of the impression that we should not attend the meeting in numbers.
Me being suspicious, given the pasting we got in March 2010 ... I would prefer numbers, even if we all just say,
"my name is [insert name] I support the MTB draft plan " in case NIMBY's attend.
Given this ... I ask if you are local and available on the night, please take time to attend, however if you are an "out of towner" thanks for the PMs and offers to help us out ... very much appreciated. However, no need to drive out, unless your curious.
With thanks
Al
Have as many bike riders there as possible.
"The voice of the people is the voice of God" - some famous American politician?
the more the better with these things, believe me.... I'll see you al there.
Im very pleased with how the meeting went. Good turn out and was good to hear some of the other concerns be voiced like the historic group, It looked to me they where happy with the result also.
They did look happy, as long as you "bring $5 and sign the book"! Old guys, classic.
The historical guys from Glenbrook Hiostorical Society were tentative at first but we conversed quite a lot with them. In the end learnt a few interesting things around the area. Especially the stone work around the caves section which was from when the workers were camping in that area when working on the tunnel. I must say a few plaques around the area could make things a bit more interesting.
Also I think one of the sidetracks that looks like it needs to be closed could link to a historical site, so we will need to keep that open, close it to bikes and do some work on preventing erosion on it. I need to look and go for a walk with Doug.
Hopefully the few other people who didn't speak up were fine with things rather than just being quiet.
Thanks for everyone turning up too and being on their good behaviour.
"... rather than just being quiet."
This is the bit I'm worried about. We need to be gearing up for this 23rd meeting or whenever it is in November ...
would also be a classic if we rocked up with Movember Hair Lips
I think we should organise a track designation / interim signage session. Couple of hours with Matt, focused on the current tracks, but as close as possible to the proposed alignment.
I think we should finish off flagging the DH (both options) if its not finished already.
we're also thinking another Lappo session would be timely and also potential discuss some next steps and maybe get a feel for the SCA stuff that Martin has knowledge of.
Hows everybody placed for the Friday 22nd (say 6.30-7ish) ?? ... or maybe a groupo Oaks mission on Saturday 23rd (night or day I'm easy ... as long as somebody picks me up from the Causeway ... I'm from Sydney Innit) ??
Anyway, prolly not the best place to put this rambling, but *shrugs.
