BMORC BBQ Fundraiser at Bunnings to raise money for signage at the trails.

Hi guy, I know that Bunnings are very supportive of community groups and schools with fundraising and thought it would be great to hold a BBQ down at Penrith Bunnings so we can raise some funds towards the signage that we will require at Knapsack, I have not had any experience with dealing with Bunnings but will endeavour to make contact this week and find out when is the next available date! They are typically on a Saturday and aside from the sausages, onions bread and sauce we only need serviettes, gloves and a float to get started, I have the contacts for the bangers and if we play our cards right I dare say we can snavel a a few donations here and there to subsidise the whole thing.
So who is in to give a hand when the time comes?

We're having a BBQ at Bunnings for the kids' pre school on November 21st. According to the missus, you need to ring them at 10am on November 1st to book a spot for the next year!

Another option which I've been meaning to bring up is the Ground Effect Slush fund.

I was going to drop them an email when BMORC was starting, but I thought it would be pointless without any definite plans or direction. I reckon now is a good time.

Good one Kingy. Just check, as you might find we will need insurance. The whole club and insurance thing is going to be our biggest problem for this kind of event. Might need to put it on the agenda for Friday night.

We should be able to borrow the Jim Aiken BBQ trailer once approved, so best to book it in too.

I'd be happy to flip snags for a few hours. I think Bunnings provide the bbq as well. But yeah, I think they book pretty far in advance.

I have heard there is like a 6 month waiting list. Dont know how true that is. There is also more than one bunnings in Penrith. One Next to the Freeway and one at the bottom of Coreen Ave.

Does sound like a good plan though and best to get onto it asap.

The missus rang Bunnings and we need to ring on Monday 1st November at 0900hrs and leave your details. It has to be around that time, not midday or 1500hrs. Then they ring back and give you a date and time.

I'm happy to do it on Monday, but the only catch is I'm at work, and if we get a fire call then no ringing for me. Perhaps someone who has time on their hands Monday morning would care to ring in?

good stuff ... I'm near Glenmore meats (w/s butchers) so I can get some prices if needed. unless somebody has better connections.

Maybe we should contact that lady that spoke re: Rate increases from the Megalong ... from memory she was a cattle rancher Smiling

maybe also able to get a track on her land ... with the argument that more riders in the area will deter the foxes ??? grasping
