The Knapsack Reserve 3hr-6hr-12hr trail race on Australia Day.
Was going to throw this in Tim's competition thread but thought I would keep it seperate.
Was handed an entry to this race at last nights Dirty Tri, I am just throwing it up if it's of any interest to anyone as I have not seen anyone raise it here. A full scale 12 hour albiet running event being held in Knapsack reserve.
There may be an oportunity to work with the organisers and running organisations on trail building suitable for both Running and Riding.
They are marking out a 4.5k loop within Knapsack reserve.
I am typically not a Knapsack Rider and can't make it to this event so hopefully someone can pop along and see how things pan out.

Following the success of the Glenbrook trail marathon and the early rounds of the short course mountain series. I would like to draw your attention to the next big thing from Running Wild. The Knapsack 3hr-6hr-12hr trail race on Australia Day.
More than just an event for the let's go long at heart. The 3hr-6hr-12hr has the intentions of building an event that can replicate the atmosphere of the now defunct Glenbrook Australia Day run. In particular the sitting round having a chat feeling of the causeway post run.
Unable to bring the causeway to Knapsack we are running an event that not only caters for those of us that want to go it alone. We are entering a relay teams section as well, as seen in many 12hr-24hr Mt Bike events around the state.
Pairs, Triples, Quads and more. With a beautiful 4km loop that includes winding single track, fast fire trails, lookouts, ridge lines, short technical climbs and ambling gullies and creek beds. A loop that brings you back through the masses collected at Knapsack Oval each time. Running through the atmospheric gauntlet that will be "The Shute".
Teams and friends will provide that Australia Day atmosphere that boomed at the causeway in years gone by. Who knows you may even decide to bring along a blow up pool, BBQ and fold out chairs if you think it may help.
One thing is for sure though. This is not going to be an event to miss. Entry forms and more details including course maps etc will be up on the running wild website shortly. Primarily dependant on the wishes of a 7 week old and her mother.
Once again one not to miss, see you on a trail soon.

Saw a bunch of runners there on Wednesday night all over the tracks. Looks like they are using the track above the old sewerage works.
Thought the PoM states trails are for recreational use ??? or is that just or MTB
Just the down hill track is not allowed competition events, everything else is fine with council approval
This subject warrants further discussion Tim can you start a message thread and include Nerf, Mog, mr Curly, JP, Vinno and anyone else who you feel should be privvy, be good to explore the subject off forum
