Social Rides

Was talking to a few people the other night and one thing that came up is that Social rides have kinda dropped off, mainly because groups of people tend to ride together, and simply, just call each other and or organise things when they see each other.

one of the reasons we set up this place was to try and increase the "community" aspect of the rides in the Mountains and surrounds, as well as get the message out about what we are doing, legit trails, etc etc.

For the newer people, and or those that tend to ride in smaller groups, or by themselves, Social rides could be an opportunity to meet new people, ride tracks they wouldn't normally ride, and ride with people that could be fitter or better or a million other reasons, as well as getting involved.

I'm not around there as often as I'd like too be, so could I ask you regulars to organise a few more rides, with a few days notice to allow the casual readers an opportunity to see the up coming ride and join in.

For me, I don't use the calendar all that much, and prefer to see some tentative planning, and then head to the calendar (its just a habit thing) so maybe think about putting up both a calendar item and a tentative chat thing ... if time permits.
