Seeing quite a few of us will be involved with planning the prefered loops at Knapsack and also involved in building eventually its probably worth getting a bit of an undertstanding on some of the trail building standards.

The IMBA website has a lot of very useful information to do with this so go to this webpage and start reading up a lot of this stuff.

Lots of excellent FREE information!

If you still feel inspired there is the book available from MTBA here

Its a great read... I'm currently lending my copy around to people so everyone can be aware of what is involved in sustainable trail building. As Nick Bowman says from IMBA Australia "It isn't rocket science". it just makes good sense when you read it.

Hi Moggio,
I have the IMBA books if you want to borrow them

Thanks Flynny... I have the first one.... I may borrow the other next time I see you.

Probably all worth buying at some stage for a BMORC "library".

Moggio,
Had a quick look, will make some interesting reading before the trail building course on 14th Aug.Lots of info there. Will have to get the IMBA "Trail Solutions" as a few copies won't go astray, and it sounds like it's the most commonly used reference.

If BMORC ever gets anything resembling finances probably be worth investing in a few copies for a "BMORC Library".

In the meantime I guess my copy can be lent out to do the rounds and then hopefuly some others take the investment leap in more copies.

the books can be purchased from MTBa http://mtba.asn.au/store/?IntCatId=13&IntContId=100

Still can be bought from the MTBA and they were very quick and helful too. $50 each and postage is included.

IMBA doesn't have them listed as available through them.

Just thought I would bounce this one up again after the meeting the other night.

Yet again if this does go through we will need to be a knowledgeble bunch to make sure how to do this type of thing as effeciently and correctly as possible. Its worthwhile to really know what makes up "sustainability".
