Understanding the results of motions raised at council meeting 2-11-10

Hi,
There will be those amongst you who may be disheartened by the news from the council meeting last night which effectively has prolonged the Knapsack Downhill process. However I wish to reassure you that the processes we are now witness to were necessary in order for the prefferred alignment to be put forward and given due consideration.
In the event that the motion had not been raised the very real likelihood that we would be given no input into the downhill track route was on the cards.
For the record our position is towards creating a track which is the model of sustainability in order to be able to make good on our representations to date we require that we observe all requirements put forward by council are met. These include and are not limited to the reporting phase and also any feedback from the public in the consultation phase.
I would ask with respect that all residents that are now affected by this delay continue to be paitient and observe the prohibition of downhill riding on the Eastern Escarpment in the sign posted areas.
As you will see in my open letter to councillors we are prepared to wait in order to substantiate our position on sustainability.
As residents and BMORC members I would request that each if you take the opportunity to engage councillors be it a phone call or an email, expressing your gratitude for the work they have already done and the work they will be doing to aid the project on the future.

Many Thanks

I started working our our Pony club DH proposal in 2007 and we're still going with it(most of the delays have been more to do with lack of club funds as there is little council input) so for you guys to have moved so far in such a short time is a credit to both the BMORC crew and BMCC.

Remember if it gets done right the first time then there is far less chance of it being stopped for future "concerns". If it takes a bit longer to achieve a bomb proof trail then it's worth the wait
