I Hate Dumpers!!

Yet another clean up today at the local.

Not a bad load of two mattresses, three sofa chairs and heaps of rotten pressboard, hoses, paint tins, tractor tube, plastic and misellaneous crap.

Was spotted by a lady who at first thought we were dumpers until we told her what we were doing and she thanked us profusely.

Tip fee would have been around $45 was told, but luckily a computer glitch meant we only had to pay the standard $12, so there was some good kharma working for us today!

That is unreal! Stinkin' dumpers.

Obviously it was too hard to dump the mattresses and furniture outside a clothing bin on the pretext of charitable donations.

Don't they realise that instead of dumping the kid in the bush they could sell him somewhere in the Middle East and at least make some money back?

It's not a lot of money, why don't these bozos take it to the tip in the first place?

Small rant: What you have here is much worse of course, but it makes me angry just seeing people toss their trash in the street (cigarette butts, food wrappers, coffee cups, etc, etc). What is it with people? Don't they realise that if everyone drops trash the environment they (we all) have live in it would soon be disgusting? What makes one individual think they are so special that they can litter while everyone else does the right thing? I just don't get it, where is the effort in walking to a bin and using one? Puzzled

End of rant, but one more point... asking a good Samaritan that's cleaning up public land to pay to dispose of many lots of other people's junk is a pi$$ take. Can't you get some petty cash from NPWS or elsewhere for the tip fees, trailer hire, petrol, etc?

P.S. Bl00dy good job - thanks for your effort. If only more people were this caring!

Good job Mark,
You are a good bloke who cares about the bush!

I think a problem we have had with more dumping is that the tip has become a "Transfer Station" you don't have the simplicty to just turn up and throw all your crap out in one spot. You need to sort it out which just makes it that little bit harder... pathetic that people find this a problem.

At least we have tried to block of/regenerate some little dingy corners where dumpers can hide when they dump so all the dumping is happening in the one spot. Makes it easier to deal with and just means one (very) unsightly spot.

mental note ... Mog has one.

Nice work, up on the central coast they have a dob in a dumper scheme that rewards you $100. Not sure on all the details but they have a hotline number you can call. Report location, plates, vehicle description, etc. I would assume if it leads to a charge then you get paid. Does BMCC/NPWS have anything like this?

Lazy Pricks!

Out our way the tip is free. We still get shit dumped throughout the bush. A lot of the time it must even be a longer drive to get out and illegally dump it than to drive to Lithgow or wang Tip.
