I may turn up for an hour or so...have to be somewhere else later in the morning.
Beth's working so I am out dammit! Considering the BOM reckons 42 out Penrith way methinks the girls and I shall be languishing in ze pool all day. Enjoy the ride guys.
Maybe maybe maybe, le john paul, le john paul...42, oh my goodness!
I reckon I'll be there for an hour our two. I might even have a mate coming up too.
This will probably be my "Farewell (for now) to the mountains" ride. Jo has accepted an excellent job offer, but the kicker is that it's in Dee Why... Looks like we're moving back to Sydney for a while! Which means no riding for quite a while, while we get things sorted out...
Gotta get at least one last cracker in for summer on the flowing awesome-ness that is Scribblies!
But don't worry, I'll still be around to annoy you all!
Dont go thinking you will get away from us that easy, once the meathooks of the mountains gets into you, it dont let go!..Maybe a farewell bbq is in order?..good bottle of red with some red meat would be the civilised thing to do?
Don't worry - my heart & soul has been captured by you bogans up this way
A BBQ sounds like a good idea. I'll talk to Jo and see what a good day is. Probably Saturday might be the best, as that way the BBQ will still be here!
And we're not leaving for good. Still keeping the place up here, albeit renting it to some other people.
You know i cant resist a blast around scribblies.
Im pretty sure i am free in the morning.
Hopefully i can make it.
We may have to get more organised for trips to Manly Dam
And the Central Coast
@Dan: See you tomorrow
Only riden with you a couple of times Gaby, but how can I resist to the local lovely sweetness of scribblies and an early morning farewell party?
Got the green light for a quick early one. See everyone there just after 8.
Hope it's smooth!
Your road bike will be fine Kingy
Nah, but seriously, Scribblies is about as smooth as you can get. A couple of rocks in one or two sections, but you'll be fine!
Thanks to everyone who came out today! It was great riding with you all, and I know I'm going to miss riding at Scribbles over the coming months. In fact, I know I'm going to miss riding in the mountains in general!
Thanks to Kingy for the memory that I'll keep forever - I'd never have believed that a road bike could handle off road like that, let alone keep up with the rest of us! In fact, I was having trouble shaking you from my tail! You confirm your legend status again and again my friend!
And to see that little dude ripping around was excellent! (http://bmorc.com/node/19368) But with the name he has, how could it be any different! I look forward to the future of our sport.
Thanks again to you all, and I'll see you soon, no doubt.
Gaby.
Thanks for the memories too Gaby. I'll never forget our first ride around Knapsack and your bike handling skills.
See you over the northside soon I hope.
And good to share a so long brew at the end
You were one of the first new faces I met almost 2 years ago now
And you've been a regular on any sort of ride
And you and Jo in on anything to do with the BMORC behind the scenes work
But we all know you'll be back when you can afford it (ha ha)
And as we were talking about yesterday
It's a good opportunity for us to venture out of the mountains
And go Central Coasting, Canberra'ing, and even Northern Beaching
I'm sure the move will go well and you'll settle into beaches life with ease
It's not a bad place to live (in fact a close second to up here)
And with OF on your doorstep - well...
Bit off topic but Kingy wanted a pic of the Bandy Bandy I saw out in Winmalee the other night. I didn't want to start a new thread just for this pic. Phone pic at night so quality is poor, sorry.
How good is that wow we live in a top part of the world!
Thank Foz
Nice looking Bandy Bandy, saw one on Faulconbridge Ridge track about a year ago, they look fantastic and are apparently mostly nocturnal.
Thanks for sharing.
At least there is one positive coming out of that ride. It was about my 2nd ride on the new bike - the track was absolutely full of spiders and webs. Not just little ones, the big bastards with the fat arse with the huge webs spanning 3-4m. I had to eventually carry a stick to get rid of the webs. Then my gears started playing up (was just the cable stretching), then I stacked it going down the grotto (bike was sweet, just my knee banged up) and then one of my lights went flat. Ended up going home early cause I got jack of it all.
