Just saw this on rotorfark
Thought the 50 might be a bit of fun, but I'm not sure
I know the area itself has some awesome scenery
But that doesn't mean the fire trails and double track running through it are

Anyone thinking of doing this one or have any knowledge of the route

85 bananas for 50km and jersey!

I'm in too. Gonna really have to try and get a little fit now. BMORC Bloaters at the 12 hour and now this one. My first race as a 49 year old fart. Gonna do more races when I am 50.

Started carbo loading on Gage Premium Lager tonight.

I'll join you somewhat mate. 2 x soopa doopa supreme pizzas with extra olives and 3 cans of the good ol' Satan's Mouthwash/ Black Witchdoctor (Coke to all the unhip). Can you tell I went for a really long run today?

Let's hope it's a quiet night at work.

Good stuff, fellas. 'Bout time you all got off your cushy tushies and signed up. Thought it was gonna be just me and JP representing the Mountains.

Let's see who's going via the event calendar: http://bmorc.com/node/21173

And sure, Bloot, I'll bring the spritzers.

And before you get all excited about getting a jersey, the race organisers might have hidden a few qualifying points on another page:

http://www.mountainsports.com.au/ms_cms/kanangra...
Says that 50km riders get a T-shirt, and 100km riders get the jersey.

http://www.mountainsports.com.au/ms_cms/kanangra...
Says only those who enter before 21st May get any booty.

Might be worth a bit of clarification from Mountain Sports, if you're in any way concerned (I'm not fussed).

OK, who's camping?

Ian_A's picture

Considering it.
I might try and call them tomorrow as there are only 30 sites at the camp ground.
I can probably drag up a trailer load of old hardwood fence pailings and rails for firewood (just got to go out to my wife's uncles place to load some up and cut a load for him as payment). Being October I imagine Oberon will still be freezing cold.
I may just pike it and get a room somewhere. Pretty keen to camp though.

I found out today that the camp ground is like Murphy's Glen or Ingar, in that you can't pre-book and it's first in best dressed. A tad too risky hoping that we can turn up and have free spots. I'll see what I can wangle tomorrow.
