I might try and go there for a look around tomorrow.... seeing what the surrounding suburbs look like its going to be interesting.

Interesting start time too Lee. 4:36?

Yeah, unfortunately theiPhone doesn't seem to communicate very well with the ride planning tool on the website.

I will try to be there.. didn't get to get a chance to check out the trail today however.

Great ride this evening, track was pretty messed up with plenty of debris to keep a look out for (eh Andy?) just waiting to try and rip your derailur off!

Yeah, no major trees on the track. Just alot of foilage. Rode with a local and who lives about 5 houses down. She kept raving on about how much better the place is since the Mtn Bikers came in. She commented on how dangerous it used to be with all the dumped rubbish around the place and now its all gone. I got her business card.

We went for another ride at the Volvo Trail and the trees where alot worse there. One over the road that needs a saw to clear it out.

Didn't have the car this evening... will head up tomorrow and maybe do a dusk ride. Hopefully enough people go through and help clear the trail of branches so that its not me doing it yet again Smiling

Nice story Tim... the place was a real tip...heaps of rubbish was removed and we faced up to a few dumpers and its really tapered off.

What was the overall verdict?

We were planning to head up Tuesday night. Is it worth it or should we look elsewhere?

After my busted der episode
gilbo and I went up there for some maintenance

Trail is in good nick overall
A few branches and a lot of debris
But nothing major

But it was actually fine before we went up there
And we only did the first section section
But with the nice weather should expect it to be in good nick

A whole bunch of muni's (mountain unicycles) were up there on Sunday as well
All ages and all sexes - they were smashing it

Went down early this evening and it is all clear again. I think last nights winds put down more stuff and there was another large tree over the track, nicely placed at neck height. With a great struggle I managed to remove it.

Except for the area that Bloot cleared (which is pristine!) the rest has a bit of leaf litter down which makes it a little harder to follow under lights so expect a few unforseen track exits. Besides that its running very nicely.

I will try and wrangle some things to come along tomorrow too.
