Handling Water Runoff - Reference Documents from the Pony Club DH trail at Lithgow
As many may know CTMTB managed to get approval to build a downhill trail and meet the increadibly strict requirements of the SCA meeting the final approval of Dr Bob Bannans of the SCA.
Of main interest in reference to Knapsack is Soil and Sediment Control Plan Part 3

This is really worth a look as it explains the drainage measures using armoring, drains, leaf litter for dissipation and bench cutting. I think this takes the IMBA Guidlines a step further and is pretty essential to look at and understand how the trail can built sustainably.
The whole set of submissions and approvals for the Pony Club trail can be found here on CTMTB and make for interesting reading also

Hey Moggio, I actually attended the Initiation Session that was conducted to discuss the limitation and requirements of the track building that was handled by an independent person hired by I think the Sydney Water Catchment Authority. He seemed like a straight up person and is allowing the people that were inducted to build the track and send him photos of the progress and then at the end he will sign the project off when he is satisfied that the track has been build to standard, thus allowing for a fast process of building as locals, that have been inducted and those that are under the supervision of those inducted can build any day they get a chance.
The building is therefore sped up with minimal cost, basically none, to Council.
It seems like a win/win situation.
Andrew was actually employed by us (CTMBC) to draw up the plans to satisfy SCA. The onus is on us to build it right via consulting with Andrew.
He has to inspect it and sign off on it before SCA will allow it to be used.
.
Thanks for clearing that up for me Flynny, that is why I wrote that I thought it was council as I wasn't 100% sure of who had arranged him. Regardless I think it is a much more workable option to save money and get the track build sooner.
