Hi Guys
This is not how I hoped my first post on the site would turn out but anyway

I went down to my garage in Harbord this morning to find it unlocked and my downhill bike gone. Surprisingly nothing else was touched including my partner and I's XC bikes (both much lower value than this bike), surfboard and power tools which makes me think whoever it was knew what they were looking for. Recently I had been tuning the bike up and cycling around the block checking adjustments etc.

The bike is a Scott Hi-Octane 2003, I bought this bike back with me from the UK and am pretty sure it was not sold here in Aus so hopefully it will stand out on the trails. Specs and pics below

Scott Hi-Octane 2003 (5th Element rear shock)
Silver Marzocchi Super T forks
Hayes 8 inch disc brakes
Truvativ cranks and bars
SRAM X7 shifter
Shimano XT shortcage rear derailleur
Mavic D721 rims
Maxxis High Roller tyres

If anyone sees this bike out and about please call me or the Dee Why police (9971 3399).

Thanks

Ben

Hi Ben , thats an awfull first post I am sorry for you , your bike is very destinctive and should be easy to spot , have a go at posting it up on FARKIN.net you will have to join up to start a thread ,there are a lot of DH fellas on board who use the local tracks and also print some photos on your pc with a description and maybe a reward stick them in plastic sleaves and nail em up at the trail heads around the nth beaches, just a thought .
I will tell my mates and also keep an eye out good luck mate.

Thanks for the tips Dez.
I have taken your advice and printed out some signs that I will put up at a few trailheads and hopefully in a few bike shops.

I will also post up on Farkin.

I have also added a $100 reward for information leading to the recovery of the bike.

Ben
