So are we meeting at Glenbrook or Woodford - the directions seem a bit unclear. I'm a maybe for this ride depending on how my schedule looks.
Glenbrook station. We will be catching the 6:53 train
If I'm free that day, how can I resist. And turns out I am free that day! See you there! I haven't done any rides lately anywhere near the length of the Convict 100 so hopefully this will be some type of training in terms of its 63km length. But training or not, those long waterbar punctuated descents are bound to be a tonne of fun! Looking forward to it!

I just added an update to the trail status. You might want to check this out before Sunday - there seemed to be a lot of water flowing through.
Andrew
I'll try to ride down and take a look tomorrow afternoon.
At this stage, it looks like I'm spending the night up in the mountains so if we end up doing the ride, I'll meet you guys up at Wentworth Falls. The train's due there at 7:40am right?
Tristan
Hi all. Don't know about you but the Sydney weather is starting to give me the S#$T's. Looking at the weather forecast I am planning on pulling the pin on this ride and instead head south to Wingello. Looking to leave Ryde area at about 7:30 which should see us comfortably on the trails by 10am. I figure we can take some supplies for lunch and get a couple of loops in. Leave about 4 and be home in time for dinner. What do you think?

According to this, Sunday is the only day that rain isn't predicted and it's meant to clear partway through Saturday and in that case dry out the tracks.
I've been waiting to this ride for ages so don't know about you guys, but I'm going to aim to go next weekend to Andersons if I can't this Sun.
Of course, I'm in no way trying to talk you into turning up to a wet sodden 60km ride, so if the forcast changes, I may be up for Wingello. Though I'm personally more keen to go somewhere like the GNR after heavy rain, the water runs off through the erosion. How'd you guys feel of hitting Great North Road if the weather looks too bad for Andersons?
if your heading to Wingello cambo, I would prob be in for that .
I did exactly that last Sunday. Wingello was the closest ride with little rain. The conditions were perfect there - a nice breeze, sunshine, only a few small puddles.
Was my 1st time there and I didn't think to look at the loops on the map. I did the Blue with my wife (around 6-7km), then the red by myself (24ishkm), then the yellow twice after finally looking at the board and thinking it was still a 17km loop (only 11-12km following the yellow arrows).
The track is really easy, with only a small amount of single track but the conditions made up for it with all the rain in Sydney. Time to think about this weeks trip I think.
Definitely want to do a ride, but can't be gone for the whole of Sunday. So I might either head to Wingello earlier or still ride in the Blue Mountains.
@Tristania, how is GNR going to be better than Blue Mountains in these conditions? I have never been up there but have it on the list to do soon. So might be an option, too!
Changed mind, going to Wingello if weather permitting.
Because it's all eroded and well ridden, the water runs off in the "gutters" and there are permanant puddles on the track where there are routes around the puddles, so the track is basically dry, so as long as it's not actively raining, it seems to be ok, better than most of the tracks after rain.
Still deciding, may post, though may end up going down to Wingello.
I'm really keen to do this ride, may reschedule for 11th, next Saturday.
