Sunday, 12 February, 2012 (All day)

Come Rain or Shine:
I'll be there, no matter what the weather.
Meeting Point:

3 Halcyon avenue, Winmalee

3 Halcyon Avenue, Winmalee
Details:

So after being thwarted by the weather gods, its time to try again, if we show the gods that we are keen enough, they surely will allow us passage!
So it will be meeting at the corner of Hawkesbury rd and Halcyon avenyue, Winmalee, meet at the nursery, please dont park over there little parking area!..It will be a 8am start, and the same thing applies, plenty of fluids, bring lunch, bring spares!
1-ride out to the lookout( we can go via some lovely single track, or ridge ride?? )
2-start mountain climbing
3- have lunch at the trig marker
4- descend with full belly
5-gruelling road slog to yellowmundee
6-ride power line trail
7-climb up bridal trail
8-climb singles ridge to cars!
So c'mon you regular bmorcers, sign up for that ride that is rare but rewarding!
Once again we are keeping the numbers low because of the amount of time it takes to mountain climb, the more people the longer it takes!
I am bringing plenty of spare fluid and spare parts, can somebody make sure we have a first aid kit?
So see you regular fellows there!
That includes Andy and Gilbo!!!!!!!

Once again rain has thwarted our plans, will reschedule for 2013, it is that wet!

If it's still raining for this one I'll consider bringing a farkin sled, got to get out of the house.......I'm going farkin mad, going, going, gone.................................

The Brown Hornet's picture

If you need to get out of the house come over and help me with my retaining wall!

BM Epic's picture

There will be questions asked if this one gets rained out!!!!
Hmmm..retaining wall, i think we are out of town for that one are we not Jeff?

BM Epic's picture

I have added Andy and Lee to this ride, see you 2 jokers there!

Andy Bloot's picture

Thanks Todd
I was looking forward to it but unfortunately
I'm down the south coast this weekend
And I'm not able to get out of it as it was booked a while ago
The only Sunday I can't make until March 11
Very disappointed

edit: Happy to just bow out, but would the next weekend work
Like I say, too much hassle and I'm happy (well, not happy - but you know) to give it a miss

BM Epic's picture

Not this weekend mate, weekend after!!!

Andy Bloot's picture

Sorry mate
I meant the weekend after (of the 12th)
That's the one I can't make

Isildur's picture

Ah shit. I just realised that the ride is the 12th, not the 6th... I'm going to have to bow out as well, unfortunately. I'm getting on a plane to Thailand on the 12th, and as much as I would love to do an epic ride that day, I'm gonna have to lean towards Rock Climbing in Thailand Smiling

Ah well, I guess it just wasn't meant to be this time Eye-wink If the Trig ride comes up again, as long as I'm not heading OS, I'm in!

Enjoy the Epic boys!

MMMMMMM, if you help me paint my kitchen cupboards which I'm in the midst of, I'll consider it.

Pratters's picture

Will it ever stop...?

BM Epic's picture

I dont think we will get this done, the trail is an absolute quagmire, worst i have ever seen it, and people keep riding in the mud, making more mud!

Gilbo's picture

I think youre right Todd, forecast is for more rain into next week. Unless the weather gods grant us a good spell of 3-4 days with no rain we will be better off looking to postpone until things clear up.

Good thing about this weather is its great for digging. Get out there and maintain those trails everyone, the sun will come back!!

Andy Bloot's picture

I copped 2 leaches last night
They're lovin it

Ian_A's picture

I pulled down my back fence last Saturday in preparation for my retaining wall - I had 6 leeches at once on my legs! totalled over 10 for the morning. My mates on the shovels were the same. 1 mtb ride in over 2 weeks is getting annoying!

BM Epic's picture

Yeah the trails are so sodden, i have 5 bite marks on my ankle where leeches went off!

Pedalgogy's picture

I know this could be considered swearing but why not just ride on the road in the rain?

Muninjitsu's picture

W/e weather was good for rides, the rain is due back tomorrow though.

BM Epic's picture

Um i was working on the trail repairing what mtb riders had fucked, because they keep riding in the rain, thats why!

Andy Bloot's picture

[MOD EDIT - a little indiscreet]

BM Epic's picture

Its off champs, it is little more than a mud pit at present, even 2 days of sun had no effect!

Chuck's picture

The area has had up to100mm of rain today as recorded at Penrith AWS. Yellomundie would have copped it.

DigDig's picture

yep drove home in it.

Pedalgogy's picture

Good call
We had so much rain in Penrith, my pool overflowed, as a result I had a lake at my back door last night which appeared to have its own tidal fluctuations. Our toilets also deicided they could not take the pressure and needed to vent some overflow back into the house. NICE! To top it off my dog was swimming in the back yard right up to the door.

trim's picture

Sigh...looks like another ride on the road bike & the mtb has never looked so clean for so long. Pretty bizarre weather though...we didn't get it that heavy at Bligh Park. As some book says, it's not global warming, it's global weirding!

BM Epic's picture

Pedalgogy.....now that is called backed up!!!!!!!!...lol
It is getting pretty depressing, my daughter wants to ride, i rebuilt the epic for her, the evo has some new bits that need testing,........and nothing!!!!
