As you might know, I'm involved in working with ANSTO, Sutho Council and Gandangara + Sutho club amongst others to formalise trails in West Menai.

We're up to staff reports to council ...

Expecting report to me released end of this week and then the usual email support campaign.

Would appreciate if BMORC could support with brief emails to support the staff report and thank council for supporting the initiative.

I'll have details in the above RB thread for relevant addresses once I know.

Thanks guys

If Menai goes through that will be great.. its such a great area and great terrain. Though is there a proposal as well on how to relocate all those damn orb spiders that cover the tracks Smiling

Will write as I really like riding there a lot (right near my parents place).

Yeah your right Mark, one of my all time fave areas, menai, kentlyn, appin..these are truly wonderful places to ride, some good people from there too, Ben(mtb1611), Grant(crank1979)et al.

I'll submit a letter Al.

Mog, I have an Orb spider story that will keep you up at night. Even had to stop riding to off load them.

Dear Councillors

I would like to thank Council and ANSTO for working with the community to develop the Mill Creek Conservation Park proposal.
I ask councillors to approve Staff recommendations and allow riders to again access the trails as per the proposal

Signed XXXXX
(add suburb or address if you like)

You are welcome to personalise your email however, the key here is thanks and please approve to reopen the trails.

Sent.

Lets hope something goes through here as it is an amazing yet completely neglected area of land.

I also miss riding there! Smiling

Done. We will have to pay a visit when reopened Nerf!!

Menai has to have some of the best terrain.... its got flat areas through bush, lots of interesting rock, some wonderful descents into the gullies, vistas and some good soil. If a development can happen it will be a terrific ride...

Only problem with the place are those face munching orb spiders I hope there is a plan to erradicate them from the area!!! Smiling

Oh and BTW, nice one Al, lets hope you stay unemployed... so maybe a big thanks to your missus actually!

Nerf Herder's picture

Unemployed isn't the right descriptor ... I'm employed ... it just pays really really crap.

Menai is a bit scary in that there is soo much potential ... it could be really easy to miss all the good bits and end up with a hooo-hummm track. I'm leaving the track design to others and the good news is the other guys know it really well.

Nerf just sent me a text. "Won Menai :)"

Congratulations to all involved.

Bloody good stuff... I think things are on a roll now. Smiling
