S-Works epic 26 frameweight

Hey S. I was at a recent Specialized demo day at Glenrock and myself and another guy had a discussion with one of the reps about the difference between various models including frame weight. This rep said that Specialized don't publish frame/bike weights. She said that their reasoning is they want riders to discover and appreciate the ride qualities of the bikes rather than focus on weight. She was quick to say that across the range, Specialized are comparable, if not better, than other manufacturers in the weight department when comparing similarly specced bikes. Anyway, I'm sure someone out there has hung their S Works Epic from the scales and should be able to answer your question. I'm not into the weight of bikes myself, but what I can say after riding an S Works Epic at the demo day recently is that they're a mad piece of kit that goes, stops and handles incredibly well and felt very light and responsive. Make sure its an orange bike - as they are lighter. The pigments in the orange colour are not metal based like red, white or green paint - they are made from nano-polyester which is typically lighter (approx 30%). Despite what people say - it will affect the handling of the bike (more than rotational mass).
