Hi,
I recently moved to Springwood from the city and I am keen to meet up with a few local riders for some casual rides. I've been riding road bikes until last weekend when I purchased a mountain bike but I'm not a complete novice.

WSMTB is holding their next Club XC round down at Yellomundee this coming Sunday 20 May - please feel free to join in a friendly race. See www.wsmtb.com for details or email me at xc@wsmtb.com

Also, our FB page is a good way of linking in for social rides.

There is a regular wednesday night ride in Glenbrook. Keep an eye on the Calander or post up your own ride to invite others.

if you want to stay local you can hook up with me to rip up winmalee, the trails are mighty fine at this time!

HI,
Yes i'd like to ride locally. Im in Paterson Rd so winmalee is perfect. I'm not into racing so social rides are better. I'm only new to mtb but have been a road cyclist for a while. I'm keen for some longer blue mountains rides as well such as the oaks

I'll be heading out Springwood Ridge to Grose Head South early on Sunday morning (hopefully), so if I do you're more than welcome to come along.

Let us know what Bluegum is like Todd and JP. We are planing a Friday night ride at Winmalee in a few weeks.

@chuck - did Blue Gum this morning under lights - it is good.

@cackmobile - I am new to this forum, not so new to springwood. Provided I am not away for work, I generally ride either Faulconbridge Point or Blue Gum (up Bees Nest to Grose Head Sth - out thru school) every morning... but start at 5:30 to be home around 7. If you like the cold and dark - let me know.

Should have said sorry Cackmobile - I have just registered for the glenbrook ride this Wednesday night and was going to ride down and back. If you want to hook up in town and roll down together msg me.

Don't ride out through the school. We are having enough problems with weekend warriors riding through the school grounds. The priest is already upset about people going through their grounds. Much more and the whole area will be shut down.
There is a short single track that ends near the nursery, or a fireroad that turns into single track and returns into Bluegum to avoid the school.
If you need more info PM me or better yet talk to BM_Epic who is more knowledgeable about the area and specifics regarding the school and issues etc.
Sorry to sound harsh, but there are at least 2 ways to avoid the school and stops any dramas from cropping up.
Might see you out there one day.
Ian

Sorry to ruffle feathers. Point taken. I am familiar with all the tracks thank you.

I also hope to catch you out there one day.

Ian is just trying to keep people out of the school, i have had several run ins with the father over the last 8 years, he knows i do all the trackwork and looking after all the single, including picking up litter that his students drop, and still he is relatively hostile, although i can get a civil conversation out of him now, it sounded like you use the school grounds to travel through, which is a massive no no, i often am out there fixing stuff and riding, should organise a ride day!
