Bee's Nest challenge anyone????
I failed last Friday so I've got something to prove.
I've never made it up Bees Nest, so I have nothing to prove.
I'm with Chuck on this but I'll still have a crack at it.
Challenge Stephen to do it on his single speed. Don't bet on it though because he will probably make it.
The only times I've ever conquered Bee's Nest is on my SS! Go figure.
Maybe I should try it on the old full ridged Spesh. That's the only bike I can climb on.
Well it's been decided for me, I will be on the single speed.
Okay, i will come out, got something to show you dudes anyhow, does anybody want to start the ride at halcyon, take advantage of some new track features and lots of work done by me to get it back to some sort of proper status!
What im saying is start at halcyon, go through top of grotto ridge, down the fall line, through grotto, then up bees nest and back along grose head?
Yeah Todd, I have been hanging to see through from Halycon!! But will let Giles call it as he is Boss Man for the night.
We can still meet at White Cross and ride up, it's what we normally do.
Been working on halcyon for ages, it is totally fun and fast, i have changed it a bit, but it is now draining well with fun bits, also up above the grotto is where the real changes have happened, the jump across the creek down on the grotto run i made a fair bit bigger, it has caught a fair few people out, been some decent stacks on it, fall line is also a bit harder too, steep and rocky, will show you guys all this and more, leave it to Giles!, its his gig!
+1 For Chuck's plan. As long as we go up bees nest the hard way I'm not too fussed.
See you there.
Whats your plan Chuck?..ride up from whitecross,on the road??
That's what we normally do Todd.
Warming up for it;

sweet as Mike, been out there today, all is riding awesomely!
Hi Guys,
Ihave noticed that the ride is already over limit but...
Myself and a mate were thinking of doing a night ride on Friday and i was wondering if it would be ok to tag along?
Thanks,
Rory.
I'm out. I'm working Friday and riding home so I won't be in Winmalee until way past kick off time. Enjoy the ride.
i be out as well, work has told me im on!!!!!
Work is knocking me out of this one also.
@hathill - for the benefit of others still signed up... noting BM Epic's request (http://bmorc.com/node/36170) from Sunday - and rain since, will this ride still be on?
I hope that you get to have a good ride in some form.
If you guys stay out of blue gum swamp i think the ride will be fine, the first pool when you descend from shaws ridge( the switchbacks), has been fixed and drained mostly, access is no problem, i went down there after the 50mm of rain on sunday and it was nearly empty, as far as the nursery is concerned, it should be ok providing there is no more massive downpours.
The bottom of blue gum after the junction to ride up bees nest is definitely a no go zone, as i say, this can be avoided by staying up shaws, descending switchbacks, up bees nest, do lookout, back along springwood ridge(grose head), then out either through nursery run or dropping down the fall line/grotto run, beware, after the grotto will be very wet!
Have a great ride peoples!
Thanks Todd - I think this all depends on if there is any significant rain between now and Friday. I'm open to moving the ride elsewhere that may be more suitable so open to suggestions on that front.
Trails should be good to ride tonight. Both ridges will be fine, maybe a little standing water just after the Shaw's descent.
Sporto after the ride will be a nice finish too. I might drive the 15 seconds to the trailhead so we can all head straight there after the ride.
See everyone tonight.
Just call this the "Blaxland, Lawson and Wentworth ridge and one bloody big hill ride"
A hill is just a hill. Except when it's a Hathill.
There might be extra holiday traffic on the highway tonight.
You guys are starting to worry me with how big this hill is going to be. I much prefer riding as opposed to walking up a hill.
I don't have a bike lock on my car carrier (long story), so how safe would the bike be at the Sports Club?
See you there.
If you're worried we can drop your car at my place and get a lift in with me, but then you'll have to drive back out later (I live towards Hawkesbury Heights from the trailhead). Would be fine if you get a park near the entrace - but in saying that I leave my bike in the car cause i'm scared someone will pinch it.
I'm heading out now for a warm-up. See you all there.
Warm up - that's cheating.
