Downhill World Cup..3 rounds in!
Well its 3 rounds in and some very interesting things have happened, firstly i will give a report after each round from now until seasons end, secondly due to being super busy(read lazy), i havent been able to write a report for the first 2 rounds, so to summarize the first 2 rounds, firstly is Pietermarizburg, in the mens the script went Minnaar first, Gwin in second, what was prominent is that gwin didnt thrash the field by 10 seconds, in what is a pedal fest with a flat pedally section that goes for about 13kms i think, the Australians were Brosnan in 5th, Hill in 11th and Graves and Hannah in the top 20, in the womens it was our own comeback girl Tracey Hannah who streeted the field to take first place in her first comeback ride!!!!!!.
Then it was a 2 month wait for round 2 at the famed Val DiSole, the rockiest steepest track on the circuit, big expectations were on Hill and Brosnan to put in good showings, but alas, Brosnan ended up in hospital after a massive fall at Leogang in Austria, Bmorc is launching an investigation, we believe he has been sabotaged, how can an Australian rider have such a bad accident, it has to be somebody elses fault, stay tuned to hear further about this investigation!..results from Val DiSole were shocking, Gwin came down first...8 seconds ahead of his nearest rival, this is unbelievable, time for another investigation, we think he has cut some corners????..for the Australians it wasnt so good, except for Hill, coming in 7th, he seems to be slowly coming back to form, for the rest of the men it would be a dark weekend, even for the lone woman, Tracey hannah admitted before the race that this wasnt her track, So Rachel Atherton took top honors!
And so it was off to Fort William for round 3, firstly the men, it was rainy, misty and slippery, and Sam Hill proved us right, coming in 4th and showing us that he is really looking strong, other riders must be starting to wonder, will it be the Gwin/Hill show later on, it sure looks like it will be, the script went, Gwin in top position,Hart in second, Atherton in 3rd, Hill in 4th, Hannah came in 15th, Graves in `13th, and Blue Mountains legend Bryn Atkinson in 20th, in the womens a french girl won it with cry baby Atherton in 2nd, Tracey Hannah had a strong ride in 5th!
So the world cup is now taking shape and it is getting very exciting, although there has been some very serious incidents, brosnans off in leogang cost him a couple of weeks in hospital, not sure if he will ride again this year, Cedric gracia having a massive stack which very nearly cost him his lifem dont think he will be back also.
So, good luck to the Australian riders in the next few rounds, we will be keeping an eye out for any illegal activities that happen towards you guys, there will be investigation after investigation into any funny stuff, i know the UCI doesnt take us seriously, even when i suggested to them that Pietermaritzburg was too safe, and that having gap jumps with a crocodile pit, big long jumps with sniper fire and Flak going off, and also no pads, no shoes or helmet, you cant tell me that these are not good ideas that will bring in the parents and kiddies, what about being chased down the mountain by a hungry lion with a chunk of meat strapped to your back, if you stack or dont go fast enough the results will be a ratings bonanza, it will certainly lift the skills of all riders!...but the UCI continue to ignore us here at BMORC, WHY????

The UCI have their heads stuck in the sand. We need to organise a letter bomb campaign to bring these forward thinking ideas to light and help them see the way. I will be waiting for the results of the investigations with my stamps at the ready for a call to action!
Another good write up, Todd. Was wondering what happened to them
Did you see the x-rays of Cedric G's pelvis? I tried to attach them here but can't.
His pelvis was in pieces - breaks and fractures through the whole thing. I don't even want to think about the pain he must have been in, and still is. I hope it's not a career ending injury. Couldn't find much info, but heard his brake cables got ripped by a rock and had no brakes. Shit!
Pity about Brosnan as well. Would have been good to see him do well this year.
Bloody injuries. Speaking of which i'm out of action for quite a while mate. Had what i thought was a minor stack 3 weeks ago, but turns out I tore the ligament from the bone in my thumb and getting it operated on this Monday. 8-10 week recovery. Help!
Hoping that after a few weeks or so i will be OK for light duties so would like to come visit you and help with a trail clean up. Was going to come along this Saturday for moral support ha ha but looks like I've been hijacked as well. Catch up post op.
Here's the link to that pelvis

What a shocker
Holy dooley, i heard it was really bad, some were fearing for his life, TB on the other hand had internal bleeding etc, both very bad injuries, your right, TB is on it and would have been pushing Gwin, Gwin, Hill and Brosnan go moto'ing together, any wonder they ride mtb so well.
Next round is Mont Saint-Anne, will give a detailed report, waiting by the phone as i type, the crocodile and Lion idea is a winner, it will bring in interest from cycle fans and nature fans alike, its win-win!
Give me a hoy when your feeling up to some trail maintenance, come and we will fart arse about!
Hope that hand heals up mate!
The croc and lion's a winner on all levels for sure
And any injuries couldn't compare to what they do to themselves anyway
Just saw TB's out for the rest of the year
And not surprised they feared for CG's life
The pain of the slightest movement would have been off the scale
Tough bastards
I reckon Gwin could stop mid run, punch out the lion (even tho he's a pacifist, this is competition) continue and still win
+1 Letter bomb the UCI ... how dare they ignore BMORC
Did you see the level of mist in Peaty's and Slugger's runs ... redonkulous ...
So happy to see Sam back competing ... I reckon good chance for the top step at MSA ... also big ups to ratboy
Slugger copped it huge, Peaty will be lucky to be riding the next few rounds, that leg looked bad, apparently seperated the ligament, Miami is really improving, also ugly Hart is riding out of his skin, it seems as if Sam is slowly working his way back, has said he is only just starting to get the lines he used to ride, thats why i reckon by seasons end, Hill v Gwin will be the norm, MSA is right up Hills alley.
As far as the UCI is concerned, lets just say that all these good ideas cant be ignored for too long, can you imagine watching on TV as Hart comes flying down a fast steep section, sees the big jump in front of him, he knows that is no problem, even throwing in a whip is no problem, but doing all that and avoiding anti-aircraft fire, that will require skill and courage, if thats not enough, he gets to the next jump and if he is not a strong pedaller, he now has to clear the next gap jump, for in that gap lies 4 salt water crocodiles just waiting for the weak pedaller, and if he takes the "b" line, it is laced with jumping jack mines!
Also no more carbon or Aluminium with uranium strength, your frame will be made of Ikea grade mdf board, so courage and a sense of humour are going to be required just to get down the mountain!
I have ideas with punji stakes, elements that decay into weapons grade uranium in 6 minutes, so that if you come up short in your race run, you turn to vapour, all this and mainstream tv would pick it up, no more footy, no more cricket, downhill to death would be the new sport!!
than when I grew up there. What are you blokes on??? Love it!!!
Yep...fantasyland!!!!
Yeah Todd.. all those print fumes maybe? Or maybe I am only watching guys riding down a hill, but there is a lot more conspiracy I just can't see. You could become the McCarthy of Mtb.
Mcarthyism, i be the Oppenheimer of the mountains!!!..there is a lot more goes on than meets the eye!
Intelligence reports suggest that the area is known by the locals as "Los Alamos Downhill Research Laboratory". Many unsuspecting people have ventured out into the area to return wide eyed and talking complete gibberish.
