2013 Silly Mentle 100km/50km
Euroka Clearing, Bennets Ridge trail head carpark.
Don't leave a gap in your calendar left by the Stinging Mettle.
The ride will be starting from Euroka Clearing, we will make our way up Bennet's ridge then up to Wentworth Falls via Ingar fire trail. There we can meet anyone that want's to do the return leg via Anderson's, which may include a KOM out of Bedford creek and a double back for a wiggle in the sniggle at Lazo's. Then the home run back down the Oaks more single track before returning to Euroka via Iron Barks.
If there is enough interest I can take down a BBQ for some post race protein and drinks.
This is a social ride not a race, anyone who can do 100k in 8 - 9 hours is welcome. I will be on my single speed for the day.
If there are any access issues at Ingar we will do Anderson's both ways.
Cause I wanted to use the spelling.
From Urban Dictionary
Mentle
1. (adj) To be horselike in looks, and have the personality of a shaven kiwi fruit.
2. To be somebody who fails; aka- Stupid, pungent smelling, and unattractive.

Should be a good ride Steve.
Shame about the race - I guess they couldn't run both directions up Ando's though as someone would definately get hurt. Surprised the 50km isn't still going ahead.
I'll join you for some part. BBQ at the end sounds good too.
Yup - might do the same as Chuck. Probably just the downhill bits
Keen to join as well. Will bring a mate too if that's ok.
I'll do the ride up and down with you Steve. This was the third race cancelled/modified this year already. I can't win. Huh, literally!
No prob Bloodpuddle, the more the merrier!!
Cool. Thanks. Actually now bringing 2 mates - both were registered for the 100. Looking forward to it!
I have had something come up so I can't do Saturday anymore. Obviously you guys can still go Saturday but I am going to be doing it on the Sunday.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
I will reschedule this for Sunday the 7th.
Unfortunately I'm out guys. I have to get my front forks serviced under warranty due the bashing it received during the Mont. The forks have to be sent down to Canberra for this to occur, so I won't have them back in time.
Can't do the Sunday unfortunately. Therefore still proposing to do the ride on Saturday 6th, bringing two mates along. If anyone else wants to join us on Saturday 6th, you're more than welcome. Will post up a new ride shortly.
Changing of meeting point to the carpark opposite Glenbrook shops for the easy BBQ's in Glenbrook Park picnic area. I will have enough beer in the fridge for everyone and will bring along plenty of snags and bread or rolls.
I have a few others not listed here that are coming along including my roadie cousin from QLD, it should be a good day out weather permitting.
Are you on the single speed still?
Just been hiking for 3 days so the legs and back are a bit stiff and sore. I'll get my lead on the down's if you run out of gears then just wait to be passed when you power past going up......
BBQ and a beer sounds good too.
I'm planning to ride up to the helipad. Playing football later in the day now.
Yep still on the single speed, won't be riding too hard as its a long way without gears..
Mick how do those bbq's work? Are they coin opp?
The BBQs in Glenbrook park are electric and free to use.
Remember daylight saving ends tonight.
See you at 730 in Glenbrook.
I'm not sure if I'll follow you guys down Anderson's - I'll see how busy tomorrow is looking.
I assume you would be coming through around 9:30 - 10:00 ish
Feel free to drop in and refill if you need to on the way past. Ian knows which house.
Have a good ride.
Thanks for organising this Steve.
Great ride - can't believe how stuffed I was at the end for a fairly sedate social pace. We did do over 100km though, so its to be expected.
Thanks for the snags and beer at the end too.
I took out the Ingar KOM according to Strava! Pretty surprised by that but I did have a solid crack.
Cheers.
What time did you get back Ian?
About 330.
