Details:

Rescheduled - Additional registration will be taken from Monday 1st July through to Monday 2nd September

This year's CareFlight Woodford to Glenbrook Classic will attract over 1000 entrants! Participants will run or ride the Oaks Fire Trail through the beautiful Blue Mountains National Park from the town of Woodford down to the Euroka Clearing near Glenbrook.

Covering 25km of undulating bushland, the trail is incredibly scenic and a must for keen mountain bikers and trail runners. Participants are supported the full length of the track by Rural Fire Service crews stationed along the way, providing first aid and drinks. A CareFlight doctor and St John Ambulance volunteers will also be in support.

The event will finish with a community fair-style reception in the beautiful Euroka Clearing. Families are welcome to join in the fun, with activities for kids, food stalls and displays throughout the day.

Mountain bike riders start from 9am and runners start from 10am. Exact start times and transport and parking details will be advised closer to the event.

Registration is just $45 for adults and $20 for juniors, which only covers the cost of conducting the event. Money raised by entrants through donations and fundraising activities helps to fund CareFlight's services. Each entrant is asked to assist with this.

Teams and individuals are welcome to enter. The registration process is online and easy to follow.

Registration is now open and will close at 4pm on Friday 21 June 2013, or until the event reaches
the maximum number of participants. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event. There is
a limit of 650 cyclists, with no limit on runners.
Register

We will need a number of volunteers the day before the event to help set up and on the day itself
to help with the event.

Ah bummer. I still haven't received an email though! Hopefully they'll get in contact with everyone...

Or, perhaps, are you increasing your odds of placing there, my friend Eye-wink Laughing out loud

Good news for me!! Smiling :) Smiling

Have two cycling events coming up so decided I could do with some running on the track, something I've ne8ver done before!

Usually about this time of year a magpie sets up at the corner of The Appian Way and swoops riders as they head down Parker St toward Taylor Rd and the firetrail. He's been there the last few years. Poor little fella will be having a nervous breakdown by the time 600 bikes and 800 runners have gone down the hill this Sunday.

Well done to all the BMORCers out there.
Seems like we all got through unscathed. Big effort by Pidge to ride that 90's thing so fast.
Interested to see the official results (anyone have a link to where they'll post them up?), I had a good battle most of the way down with the bloke who ended up taking me out by a few metres for the win in the 20-29 male category.

Great effort this year by all the locals. Another big effort by Noel at Lawson, he raised $7k this year.

Didn't see the Magpie Ken.

I'll hold back on commenting on my time/ride, want to confirm it first. Maybe I was delirious at the line and miss read the time.

Next year Timmy.

52:44 for me this year. Looking to break 50 minutes now. Smiling

That goal is going to haunt you until next year Mick..........

Gilbo's picture

1 hour 5minutes = PB, but was aiming for sub 1 hour. Next year!

Well done Gilbo!

Maybe Mr Hathill, but I've already forgotten about it.

40 minutes for 25km is pretty darn fast that the winners got - averaging just under 40km/h!

As for me, did the run in just over the 4:00min/km; 1:43, getting 16th overall and being the first - and only - 15-19yo competitor. What is it with youths these days; almost nobody under 30 in either run or ride? Glad to see BLKFOZ hitting up the ranks in the 20-29 on the bike!

Like Brame who came 3rd in Elite (time of 42:44) is 16 years old! 4th place (Ben Green) and 5th place (Connor White) are both 17 I think.

WSMTB members in top 5 of Elite, and many more in the top 50.

Well done on the run time Tristan.

Well done on the Run Tristan, I think I saw you cross the line.

Photos are now up on marathon-photos.com

It seems everyone was pretty happy overall with their results, lots of PB's! Well done everyone! A PB for me too (my first time...) on the old shogun. Wondering how many minutes I could/can shave on the new bike! 5 mins or so would be nice! Fitness was pretty good this year, hopefully I can replicate it next year. The bar keeps getting a bit higher! Think I might start in age wave again next year and see if my time is worthy of the elite pack.
