Holy crap! 400 lumens at 350ma!
When it comes out I'm going to run it at 1000ma and just have one LED!
Oh well
Just like the other XR-E when they first came out, these are 700mA limit.
The whole point of this, of course, is that you only need 1 emitter (it's actually 4 separate ones in the same package) and therefore 1 lens. Cheaper, smaller. Don't forget, because it's 4 emitters you need more voltage drop too.
This will run hot mind... lucky I have some old CPU heat sinks lying around!
CPU Heatsink I hear you say? Got that covered already

I also have this in my PC which I may replace soon. Maybe that will do
Stick that on your helmet and let it push you along the singletrack!! Hovercraft style!
Cheers,
Lance.
My mate has bought a few of these, http://www.luxeonstar.com/item.php?id=5537&link_... .
I am waiting on some sample ICs to build the current source, he can sought out the battery and heat sink.
That Luxeon looks good, until you read this:
Doh!
I was just about to put together a 4 set of R2's...
should I wait till these puppies are out then? hmm....
Me too

Although if i go 4 x R2's, I think i'll need a bigger heatsink....
