How bad is that plastic thing Shimano call a bottom bracket?
Yes they are cheap, is that because they need to be replaced every 6-8 months?
Never had these problems with outboard bottom brackets, just clean and forget, last forever.
Time to replace again, just interested in what other people are using as alternates?
Anyone using a Wheels Manufacturing alloy bottom brackets? Looks good, alloy body and a choice of different type of endure bearings, depending on what you want to spend.
Cheers

I've got a Praxis on mine. Not done a massive amount of km on it but what I have done has been shitty, wet and sandy and it seems to be holding up ok.

Been testing these BB's from CBEAR.

Just finished a review which I have recently published.

So far so good.

Seems like I'm not the only person feed up with the Shimano ones.
Had heard of Praxis but not C-Bear.
Will Check them out.

It could be an issue with your frame, if the BB shell isn't perfectly round you can put a bit of axial load on the bearing and they don't really like it. I have a BB86 BB and it is horrible and I doubt I'd get another frame with pressfit as a slightly out of round BSA BB isn't really an issue but PF goes to poo.
