What happened to the Lefty option?

The lefty is still a possiblity only on a scapel though. Im just looking at the other options as well. if im going to spend that much on a bike i want to make sure I get the right bike.

I note you have quiet a svelt frame Supagav, but you're quiet tall - how heavy are you? Why I ask is that I've heard the SID is a bit delicate and they can be a pain to maintain. Clearly they will need more looking after if you work them harder, and the heftier the rider the more work it will do.

FWIW, Pratiwi's bike has a SID Race fork and I think it's rather good for that. She weighs half what I do though - not sure I'd trust it myself.

hey i just put a set of the world/cups on my bike have not rode it yet, but i can say the forks are damn light, im only 70kg's tho, so i dont make them flex to much, they do come with a new funky poploc system, and in a range of colors.

Im just on the 80kg mark so not that heavy. The new SID is meant to be stiffer than the old reba and better seals etc. no first hand experience with the SIDs in saying that I do love my Reba 29ers expecpt the little bit of flex when pushing them hard. I have only had to have my rebas serviced after 6 months of hard riding so im quite happy with that side of them at the moment. BTW the SIDs I will looking at are the World Cup version on the new Anthem X.

My opinion is if you are only going to race it XC and not do much technical riding, then the SID should do okay. I agree with Rob though. If you are going to use it for anything else more manly, you may want the next tougher fork up in the range.

Hey just to set the record straight these forks will only be used on a full XC race only bike. I am wanting to step up to A grade/elite. Anybody out there compared them to a Fox equivlent eg F100 RLC? or similar

the 08 f100 rlc are great,i havent noticed any flex at all and they ride butter smooth.the weight difference between the new sids and the 09 fox is only 50 grams.cant comment on the sids but they would have to be something special to be better than the fox.

Going from the old Reba to the new SID made a big difference - smoother, stiffer, lighter, and the new pop lock is better designed. Worth every cent.
Bought the SID Race 100mm poplock version for cheap when the Aussie dollar was much better valued than now.

Tien.
