Hey,

I need to get some training in for the Half Fling and I gotta figure out how fit I am to see how quick i can go. The aim is to do the oak's up to the top, stopping at the Helipad and then at the gate for water and Guis etc. Come back down and detour via St Helena's I'm hoping I will be fit enough to do the lot at a a good pace.

As always if there are some roidy people there we will split as appropriate.

Andrew

PS Sorry Rob for putting this on the same day as your ride - I can't find another day that works for me.

Lorrie, I could be tempted as I haven't ridden the oaks before. My only concern is St Helena towards the end, how technical is this? How does it compare to Manly Dam, Can I skip that bit and meet you back at the station?

Cheers

The oaks is great fun - yes its overrated but I do thoroughly enjoy the ride, riding up provide me with a good measure of how fit I am. the views are spectactular! Its worth doing at least once to figure out if all the talk about the track is worthwhile. The singletrack at the end makes the long grind uphill worth it.

St helena's pretty technical have a look at the ride profile. Yeah i guess its like the dam, if you can do the Dam you can do Set helan's! I was only planning on doing this if there was company as its not a track that is ridden much so i would never do it on my own in case something happens.

My training has been woeful in the past few weeks so i don't know if i will do St Helena's at all. We could do a bit of it. Not sure if Bernd wants to do it as well

I haven't been on the MTB in weeks so i cannot wait!!!!

Do you live in/near Lane Cove?

I do the Dam on a regular basis so I'll be up for the ride, could do with the longer distance too.
I live in Lane Cove so it would make sense for us to car share?

Fox is dropping the shock round at the LBS store this afternoon I'm hoping that it can be installed this arvo. Unfortunately I won't know till 6pm when I swing by the LBS if I can make the oaks ride tomorrow.

Gary in Oz can you PM me your mobile? Sorry to muck you round on this one. The bike has been in the LBS for a few weeks now and I assumed that it would be ready by now, even with a weird service on the "Brain"

If not I'll have to ride on the other bike!

I've dropped you a PM

I should be right for tomorrow! Have arranged to pick the shock up personally and drop it to the LBS before closing time for them to install it. Considering there was no nitrogen in the Brain (needs it at 400psi) it should be an awesome difference.

I'll ride down the Oaks and meet you on the way up.
Cheers.
