Hi guys MountainBiker hear. i have a Diamondback Zetec X4 and the suspension fork on the bike is not the best but i wouldn't say its crap i just need something softer.....getting to the point i was wondering if anyone could suggest/recommend any forks that would fit my bike (the bike is a small i think 14"have to look it up on the website) and is soft enough so a 12 year old could push it down (I'm 12 yes i know I'm young but i love mountain biking)but i have a budget $300 - about $450. I have no idea on how to look for a fork that would fit my bike.

thanks!!

Hi mountain biker.
Dont worry about being 12 - I started when I was your age and raced in ripped jeans a canoe helmet! It sounds like you are doing ok already if you have a bike with suspension forks.
Do your forks allow you to put any extra air in them? If so, you could try taking air out of them a bit to help make them softer.
You have some good money there, but I'm not sure if spending it on some suspension forks would be the best thing for you or your bike.
I'm sure that some bike shop somewhere will help you spend it on some new forks, but for the moment, just ride the bike a bit more, try what you can to soften the forks up, but really, as you grow you will put on weight and the forks will be feel softer anyway.

Good luck with your riding, well done for getting on the forum, and dont spend all that money on new forks!

yer i guess your right. I can't put any air into it because its a spring fork I'll just give it some time and see how we go. Thanks for your comment!!!

you are probably better off selling your old bike on ebay or trading post, get $50-$100 for it. Then spend $500-$550 on a new bike that is better suited to you.

You could try wearing a backpack full of bricks to add some weight. It will also make you super strong.
