Uglifying your bike....

get rid of the nobs and put on the slicks.

How ugly is this!!

Funny Looking Reign

Giant Reign with slicks

Funny thing was as I dismantled the LUST crossmarks and ignitors as their 3 month expiry was reached, I had very different results in both front ignitors and rear crossmarks.

Residue left in front ignitor with a very strange latexy 'growth'
Stans creation

and

Residue left in rear crossmark. Heaps more left than the front, even though they were installed at the very same time..... Strange huh?
Stans remaining after 3 months

So... why?

Well, why not make things interesting when throwing it into a right bank, nobs...... who needs em?

Nah, Since my commuter is a 44/16 singlespeed hardtail, it is hardly suitable bike for re-entering the commuting crowd with only one working leg.

I've cranked up the fork and shock pressures so hopefully its stiff enough and the gears will be very welcome Smiling

that coral looking lump is where you've gotten a small hole in the tyre and the stans is doing its job. i once got such a puncture that kept trying to seal but wouldn't i ended up with a golf ball size growth. its very rubbery and fun to throw back and forth.

How funny Smiling

That would explain the difference in residue from that tyre to the rear.

Seems Stans lasts much longer than advertised (if no punctures, like the front I assume). Probably also cos I burp the front quite regularly.. I'm sure that results in added stans loss.

gives my trance X a different look when using the schwalbe maraton tyres with that thin while line on the side wall Smiling

on full sussers unless riding offroad!

Slicks are mildly acceptable on bitumen on a hardtail.

However, riding around Lake Burley Griffin on cycle paths on a full susser 29'er with knobbies because I could only bring one bike down here and didn't have my car today is WAY COOLER THAN AN IGLOO THAT'S HAD ITS ELECTRICITY SUPPLY CUT OFF AND CAN'T AFFORD TO PUT THE HEATING ON.

How do you like the Joplin?

Not been in use for months but I love it!

So versatile! Worth every cent in places like Red Hill!!

Often when i get out behind the saddle i get myself stuck there and cant get back over. Never such a problem now after I drop the seat. Despite it being designed for technical uses, it really works a treat for XC as I can go to a super high seat setup for ultimate pedalling position so I dont need to go to a medium setting so as to get out behind and back on top of the seat.

Wouldn't go back to a rigid post I reckon!
