Jpack, inflate the Nevegal on the 819 rim with a tube inside. This will seat both beads. Carefully remove one bead, and the tube. Put the tubeless valve in, and the dose of latex. Massage the tube to try and reseat the bead again as much as possible, even just getting it behind the safety bead but on the land area will help. Then inflate.

This was the only way I could get a Nevegal to seat on my 819s, and I've had no trouble since. Except that I didn't ride immediately and they kept losing air. This stopped me riding, so every day I'd pump up, spin the wheels around and wait 24 hours. What you need to do is ride on the tyres ASAP to get the latex to coat everything, and work its way into the bead interface.

My tyres hold pressure for a month or more now.

See you tonight.

I'm IN, if i can manage to get the rear wheel inflated. I just received my new XM819s on Pro II hubs. Easily sealed a Maxxis Advantage 2.4" on front. Having trouble seating a Kenda Nevegal 2.35 on rear. I have left the nevegal on a old rim inflated to give it some shape.
PS: anyone know how much sealant i should use? I bought Joes No Flats. They say 120 - 180mL for larger tyres, seem's a bit much?

I've always used around 50ml of Stans in my tyres - that's for non-UST running tubeless. I did notice Joe's recommends more - kind of defeats the purpose of replacing tubes with heavier sealant Eye-wink
That qty could only be justified in a DH tyre!

BTW: Aldi north sydney have a few 2hp air compressors on special for $99 with the full accessory kit. These are usually around $144 at Bunnings forthe same unit.
If you are interested pm me and I'll check they still have some - I work across the road. I have one, different brand but looks like it came out of the same factory and it's excellent for airing up difficult tyres.

My neighbour has an air compressor, which i used to seat the maxxis advantage on the front rim. That was easy. Tried the same with the nevegal and no such luck. I don't mind the heaverier wheels for the moment. I like to train with heavy wheels and when it comes race day (irate intern) i'll go for the crossmark, larsen TT combination.
