Titus Rockstar. Any good?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hi All
After 6mths owning my first 29er, (a fast ali hard tail ) I'm now looking at stepping up to a full bouncer.
I'm only after the frame as I already have some good wheels, Reba 15mm 120 taper forks, brakes, crank bars & stem so I'm only really after the frame.
I would love a Pivot 429 or Tallboy but the budget isn't there at the moment.

Within my current budget I have recently seen a Turner Sultan frame for $1300 & a Titus Rockstar for $1100.
Any thoughts on these frames for mainly trail riding with the occasion race wearing faster, lighter wheels.

Cheers
T

Hi all, sorry but I need to get something off of my chest...
I have read several "New Bike" & "New frame" forums recently where hard tail frames have all but been dismissed as a thing of the past, contributors usually say something along the lines of:
"I locked out the back end of my (insert name) duallie the other day & it felt shit, "Why would anyone buy a hard tail bike/frame these days"?

Well, if you think that's really all there is to it then I think that you should borrow a reasonable HT & give it a spin around an XC circuit.

Hey guys,

I'm looking at a cross country, dual suspension for under $2500. Almost half my riding will be ON-ROAD.

I will be using it for moderate/difficult fire trails and UP/DOWN bush tracks (no huge drops, no extreme downhill). My main concerns are LIGHTWEIGHT (14kg max) and at least front SUSPENSION LOCK.

Currently considering (all around $2000):
1/ Scott Aspect FX 15 (front & back lock suspension, 13.9kg)
2/ Specialised FSR-XC Comp (highly reccomended by a friend).
3/ Giant Anthem 2 <--- The talk of the town (fantastic front fork, excellent value, propedal)
