As many of you know, the hugely popular track at Hornsby will need to be closed off shortly as the Northconnex project requires passage for vehicles to the Quarry. Understandably, there has been a great outcry about this with pleas to save the track.

After this liaison, here is the latest update, emailed to SNORC members:

Hi xxx,

So what new trails are in store for Hornsby Shire for 2016?

I thought the global riders MTB community might be interested in this:

"Great news! The club has secured a significant grant from EPA to combat the illegal dumping at Kinross Forest."

Here's a chance to give Pittwater Council some constructive feedback on the lack of reference to mtb in their bike planning processes. 30 September deadline for comments.

Vote for more MTB Trails!

Do you want to see more MTB trails in NSW? Then please show your support by voting for the Wylde MTB Trail in the Premier's Peoples Choice Landscape Awards at:

http://news.domain.com.au/polls/domain/2015-prem...

If Wylde wins, then we have demonstrated a popular demand fro MTB trails. We just can't let a seawall at Cronulla beat a MTB trail!

Even if you have never ridden Wylde, or don't even live in Sydney or NSW, your vote(s) will all help the cause of gaining more MTB trails.

Save Mona DH Access! Submissions close Aug 28th

Hi all

We need urgent help making a submission for the Mona Vale Road widening. Emails need to be sent no later than Aug 28th COB.

There is a real risk of losing shuttle access.

Please ask RMS to work with riders to allow a drop of bay as agreed in 2013. This is to manage road safety so Council can formalise the track.

No more trail closures!

With all trail closures of late and inaction from some land managers. Tell the government what you would like in mtb resources.

Nearmap help

Does anyone have access to Neapmap?

I need to look at how a track has changed between 2002-2010-2012-2015?

Hornsby Council Vote for Stringybark Ridge Wednesday night

I'm sorry that I won't be able to attend due to having an exam tomorrow and needing to maintain my sanity, but the Hornsby Council meeitng will be on tonight so anyone who can get themselves along I'm sure will be appreciated. Personally, I cannot believe the idiocy of some of these (so-called) "green" campaigners who somehow think that we're going to destroy the bush, deal drugs, make horrible amounts of noise by having tracks built in Stringybark Ridge (Is that what happened at OMV?). Apparently some dickhead has even recently gone around putting letterbox drops warning locals of this.
