Following my previous post regarding the apparent closure of two sections of the Quarry Road Track linking Dural from Hornsby, all SNORC members have received and email from them, and are paging all riders with a passion for preserving tracks to take some more action (in the midst of action for the building of other tracks):

"Dear XXXXX,

Berowra Valley Quarry Trail suddenly closed????

Here are the facts you need to know in order to still ride safely and legally.

OMV Stage 2 is now open. And it's quite different to stage 1.

Has Mountain Biking gone mainstream?

Over the years I have noticed a few things - Lots of women now out enjoying riding especially on the road which is great and an air of conservatism from other MTB'ers on the trails.

Beware what you share on Strava

We do not condone the use of illegal trails/riding. Perhaps this can help police the users who ride closed trails when wet, etc...

How slack do we look as stakeholders?

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

On Saturday (12-4-14) the Blue Mountains Off Road Cyclists held a Volunteer day on the Oaks single track. This was supported by National Parks and Synergy.
How slack do we as Mountain Bikers look when only 3 volunteers turn up to a track day for thee most popular track in the Blue Mountains and one of the most popular tracks in all of surrounding Sydney.

Hey guys,

It appears that the Belrose Waste Management Facility has entered into a formal agreement with the Dept of Health &/or NPWS to provide 10Ha of land as part of a biobanking arrangement to offset the new Frenchs Forest Hospital destroying the endangered Duffys Forest vegetation on site.
