Centenary Trail - Canberra
Hi all,
I thought I'd give a quick write up about the Centenary Trail around Canberra for those thinking about riding it.
From what I'd read, the Centenary Trail was opened late last year, it was a 135km loop around Canberra giving views of the layout of town from different vantage points.
It is recommended that the course be ridden over 3 days, averaging about 45km per day or hiked over 6 days. Of course I thought it was a good idea to attempt the whole course in one day.....
Grose Head South night ride
Meet at the nursery on the corner of Hawkesbury Rd and Halcyon Ave.
We'll meet at the corner of Hawkesbury Rd and Halcyon Ave in Winmalee. The ride will kick off at 1830. Down the sniggle, up to Springwood Ridge and out to the lookout at Grose Head South. Back a bit to fly down Bees Nest Hill, and then through the swamp to finish at the end of White Cross Rd.
Pace will hopefully be fast-ish social and the ride should last no longer than 2 hours.
andersons and oaks ride to beat the winter blues!
Keen to do the The Oaks so we meet at Glenbrook.
The pace will be "medium social" - This will mean several short stops will happen at the creeks, KOMs and the helipad, though besides that I want us to be able to move along at a body warming pace, so it'd be preferable to ride with people with a established degree of fitness.
Newbie needs riding partners ...
Hey I'm just getting into MTB riding really keen, trying to ride once a weekend at least, but I need some people to ride with? I think these group rides that are posted up here might be too technical for me to start with so I may not keep up. If anyone's keen on a few MTB rides with a newbie let me know !
Blue Mountains?
I'm in the blue mountains this weekend and wondering if:
(a) anyone is keen for a ride on sat morning around 0830 start?
OR
(b) any advice on where to go for a fun technical ride with a few hills etc. Around 2-4 hour ride?
Any info is appreciated at this very late notice.
