Hi, I am keen to do a 3-4h training ride early Sunday morning. It has been a long time that I have organised a ride and I have never been up in the Blue Mountains. So it'll be a bit of an Adventure ride Smiling. I got GPS so we will always know where exactly we are lost!

If you want to join, I am more than happy to take any suggestions on what exactly the ride should be. I am on a hardtail and semi-fit.

Cheers, Volker

Updated:
Cutting this down to The Oaks only. I want to be a bit more conservative since I have never ridden in the area. The idea is to catch the 6.53am train at Glenbrook and arrive at Woodford on 7.23am and than ride The Oaks fire trail back to Glenbrook.

What is it? Too early, wrong track? You don't trust my path finding capabilities (which I would fully understand, I continue to amaze me with the creative ways I can get lost or in trouble Smiling)? I can give interested parties a lift from the Inner West.

Cheers,
Volker

But it's The Fling on Sunday so most people will be down in Bundanoon for 110km of P.A.I.N F.U.N

I'm working this weekend but I'm off for a month from November 23rd if you're interested.

Allright, I see how I go. If I survive and liked it I'll post it again!

Thanks for the feedback, I was wondering if I was going down a track that is the analogy to the shark infested beach! Nobody in the water but the tourist unfamiliar with the area.

Cheers,
Volker

When you reach the gate at the bottom of the long downhill (after the helipad clearing) don't continue on down the road. Instead on the left is the start of the Oaks singletrack that takes you all the way back to the bottom carpark.

Have fun

Was about to say the same thing. It's amazing how many riders accidentally miss the single track.

I could well make this one. Im not super fit, its just the going up hills bit that slows me down. But i do know where im going...i'll ask a couple of mates whom might/might not be keen, either way i think i'll come. 75% In!

Nobody said that there were any uphills! Darn.

Would be great to have company, username2! The more the merrier. I was wondering if going down to the Nepan lookout is a worthwhile detour to add a few more k's in?

Chuck's picture

Nepean lookout is okay. I'd rather go up to Mt Portal.

I can only do the oaks, due to sunday time restraints. I'll be theer though!

You could head out to nepean look out, before the end is a marked track off to the left (pisgar ridge) which is a nice single track leading down to the river.
I will be enduring Fling Fun.

Can't scare away the only person who has signed up to come on the ride, so we'll limit it to Oaks only for this weekend, but sounds like there is much to explore in the area Smiling!

Cheers,
Volker
