Details:

Ok, last Sunday's ride clearly highlighted Hills as being a limiter in my current performance Smiling.

So, I have half a thought of trying to go Oaks up and down. This would have the additional advantage of cutting out about an hour of dubious entertainment on the 6.53 train up to Wentworth Falls.

Otherwise it is Andersons& Oaks again. Comments?

What Happened?

Were you there and have a story to tell?

You could do this one Smiling

Chuck's picture

I might be keen for the up and back. Will confirm tonight.

Pedalgogy's picture

I would say yes, but I have already comminted to doing the Andersons and Oaks again. The loop Brian is talking about is great if you want to do some serious hill climbing.

Anyone can join pedalgogy and myself on Sunday morning. It may be a bit late for you all but I'm already getting up at 4am to get there.http://glenrocktrailalliance.com/node/32649.

It might be worth doing the loop brian has posted just so we don't have to catch the train.

Chuck's picture

Let me know what you are doing Volker. I'd be happy with the Oaks up and back. Otherwise I'll try to meet up with Jaseh and Steven.

Volker's picture

Thanks for offering to join the Andersons and Oaks ride, but that is indeed a bit too late for me.

I'll change the meeting time to 7.00am for people that want to come out by train from the city.

evan's picture

Will try for this one again.
Hopefully see you there.

Cheers
Evan

I was going to ride Appin, but there is a race on so Oaks up and back should be good ,anyway I wanna see Volker use his new climbing technique !!!

I'll just make sure that I'll stay at the back!

Garmin says (one to crash your PC, Craig!):

Mmh, I might need a tip here on how to make the right show up in the post. For now, just click it!

Pratters's picture

I'll download the photos and post them up tonight.

Great to catch up with everyone today. I'm just glad we made it home before the storm hit. Pineapples!!! I too felt it was odd to carry a tin of pineapple in your backpack for a ride like the Oaks Smiling.

PS. The two logs near the Glenbrook helipad at the start of the techy section are logs launches.

Volker's picture

Clearly roll-offs!

Pedalgogy's picture

Yep the log launcher/roll offs add a couple of interesting features to the single track. We got hammered with rain on the way back after the helipad. It was just like last week when I rode home from Glenbrook.

Chuck's picture

I was at the Glenbrook shops having coffee when the storm rolled in at 12:45pm and was wondering where you guys were.

Okay, we'll call them log launcher/roll offs. Smiling Can still remember the first time I launched of them, not pretty.

hathill's picture

I remember the last time I launched off them - instant pinch flat!

Pratters's picture

My legs still hate me...

Hey Volker

Don't use the embedded link and just the normal one and it will show the preview.

I really like that look of contemplation on Craig's face!

Pratters's picture

We have a long way to go, but geez, this banana tastes good. I wonder if anyone brought a tin of pineapples...

craked's picture

Yes I would have enjoyed some pineapple ,but I thought what kind of nutter would have a can of pineapple on a MTB ride! Eye-wink

Brian's picture

What are these logs you are talking about?

Pedalgogy's picture

They are talking about the two logs at the end part of the single track. It's where you make a right hand turn, the terrain becomes rougher and then you roll over two logs facing in a horizontal position which just happen to drop off. Why don't we just name that area the pinch flats or pinchies?
