Would have been keen, but I've got to be at the airport by 12 so might be cutting it fine.
Next time for sure though!
Have not done the Oaks up and back combination before...andos always gets in the way!
Would be keen to hit out the Mount Portal trail to the lookout as part of the fun!
If I get my bike in time I will be in. The rear shock has blown and Fox have said 2.5 weeks turn around. Bike shop is looking for a spare in the meantime they can throw on in the interim. Will let you know
Screw in a steel rod and run it as a hardtail until you get your shocks back, Cambo!
@Shano, we can add Euroka clearing on the way up and think about Mt Portal when we come back. I have been more running than biking lately, so I do not expect this to be a fast ride ...
I'm keen - especially if it's not going to be a fast ride...first time to ride the Oaks
If anyone would like a lift I will be leaving St Peters just after 6am, I can take 3 people + bikes in my van. Unfortunately it would be one way only as my family will be training up for a post ride picnic and bush walk.
Plenty of secure parking at my place. I'm less than a km ride through Sydney Park from St Peters train station for your return trip!
Welcome and thanks for the car pool offer, Brett, good thinking!
I am keen to try out using the train to get to Glenbrook, so I'll pass on your generous offer.
Boys, just got hit by a car doing a local loop. Bike is f.....d. Maybe next time if the bike gets back on the road
You OK?
Yeah not too bad
Not feeling the best at the moment, will see how I feel tonight and let you know about tomorrow.
Cheers
Jason
Unfortunately I only have a cpl of hours spare in the morning(going out at 11) so can't make it to this one. I am going to go for a lap of Shaws/Bluegum instaed if anyone is interested. I'll be at the gate(end of Whitecross Rd) at 7:40.
Won't catch up this time Volker, I'm heading to Manly Dam.
Sounds like a three and a maybe, not too bad. weather is promising to be good. Looking forward to it.
Cambo, hope your ok!
To anybody with a time constraint, as this is an out and back loop, you can turn at any point. Up and back on single-track is about 1.5hrs return, turn around at helipad about 2.5hrz return.
Chuck, enjoy Manly, haven't been there in ages! See you next time!
Ah, you were the guys we passed on the way down this morning, between the helipad and the start of the singletrack.
We were on a black Giant Reign and a silver Cannondale dually, and I had an orange long sleeve top on.
I seem to remember an orange flash coming in the opposite direction?
Thanks Volker and Shane for showing me this track, a great morning out. Caught up with my family at the end, and managed a swim in the Jelly Bean Pool near the causeway as the temp reached 30 deg in the afternoon.
