Remember - guidelines are:

hathill 2013 BMORC Bash Well - firstly I must apologise for not posting this up sooner but I was so emotionally overcome by the ride on Sunday that I have only just stopped shaking and been able to put my thoughts into some sort of coherence.

Were you there and have a story to tell?

Muninjitsu's picture

Cool special tandem category for blind tandem riders, clip less a must so the stoker doesn't get thrown by the steed.

Will have to pedal to woodford due to lack of carriage space.

Dutchy74's picture

Unlucky Char. If it wasn't for the clunker I'd meet you at Springwood, however I don't think mine would make the trip up the hill (single speed flat out at 25, downhill, lol).

hathill's picture

Looks like we'll have to move this - Clean Up Australia day is on and we wouldn't want to have our dungers thrown in the skip bin by an over-zealous cleaner upper-er while we weren't looking. Hows the 17th sound?
(Lots of races on in March I notice)

Chuck's picture

I'm good for the 17th.

Muninjitsu's picture

Locked it into my wifes Diary (17th is free)

Chuck's picture

The sad thing is we will be missing J the B this year. Just hope we don't need the 10kg of tools he carry's on the pannier rack or his cool intellect.

hathill's picture

What about the tie?

Chuck's picture

Well the tie and vest was a given for J the B.

Ah, the memories.

Dutchy74's picture

17th March is still fine for me. I just wanna ride!

Kevin de Brus's picture

At del rio is on the 17th, I think I might give it a go...

stephen's picture

Round 1 of WSMTB XC is on the same day as well.

Andy Bloot's picture

Jim wears that as his riding outfit all the time
As for his cool intellect...

Word was that he was going to wear a dress this year
Unfortunately...

Was going to say I could borrow his bike and dress (would be a slim fit)
But I'll be on my annual surfari to Crescent head

Username2's picture

And so the crap talking begins =D!!

I still think Clips should be out. Period, no exceptions. If you need clips your too fit! Indexed gearing is also on my radar...

Also racing is not an excuse for not atendidng, this is the annual, premier mountain biking event of the blue mountains. For the cost of a race entry ebay will surely provide you with a suitable bike.

Tristania's picture

Was wondering when on earth this was going to be held, but DAMMIT, it's the same weekend as Capital Punishment Sad
Well I have a "new" machine, maybe for next year. It's "suspension" was worn, so I pulled out the forks and discovered the "shocks" consisted of a bit of worn foam (I'm not kidding), so cut up an old thong and shoved it down the forks!

Looking forward to seeing this year's photos if nothing else (and if CP is cancelled I know there's an alternative that I won't need to worry when the bike gets wet (!)

Tristan

Brian's picture

The CP is on Saturday so you could still make this.

J the B's picture

Don't know who leaked it, but word is that J the B was going all out this year. Yes, he was going to bring the 10kg of tools, but this time he had a nice little basket lined up on his new clunker. Yes, he was going to ditch the tie and vest. But what was his riding clobber going to be?

Here's something the paparazzi snapped on an earlier Bash trial run through town:

Andy Bloot's picture

If you looked like that Jim
I would never lead and would crash a lot more than I do

And when are you gonna stop malingering and get out on your bike

ChopStiR's picture

Too hot Jim!

Muninjitsu's picture

Hey Jim is she coming along as your replacement?

Chuck's picture

Hanneli, you're so hot on that bike.

I'm with you Bloot, I'd be crashing a lot more too.

Andy Bloot's picture

I'm just hoping that when Jim does get back on his bike
The rest will have made him look a bit more like her
I would gladly lose the skin

mikethebike's picture

Does this fit the bill? Might be a little too good maybe...

http://aldi.com.au/au/html/offers/2827_25366.htm

Chuck's picture

Yes, it does seem to fit the bill. Although I will be calling for the dubious entries sub committee to immediately confirm the validity of your entry.

Once again.
PS. Please read the disclaimer. http://bmorc.com/node/14945

trim's picture

Looks a S#$#load better than the Huffy I'm planning to ride...

Chuck's picture

Sounds like your bike might take out an award this year Trim.

trim's picture

An award will be better than taking out myself, anyone else, or unfortunate flora or fauna!

ChopStiR's picture

Bonus points for a track stand.

Chuck's picture

The award I was thinking about wasn't for the bike Trim. Smiling

I'm about to retire my old Spesh before the Bash ride, it's destined for an easier life now. So I'm planning something different this year. Hopefully I can get it ready by next month.

stephen's picture

http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/blackheath/miscel...

Those huffy's look nice. That's one hell of a Swingarm.

Muninjitsu's picture

Stephen I think you should get penalized for flats this year, no 700C wheels for you!

Chuck's picture

Stephen rode his 700c bike on Sunday and all went well. Besides, will Stephen be attending this year?

stephen's picture

Some restraint on the decents saw no flats last weekend up and back Char. But it doesn't look like I will make it this time around unfortunately.

Dutchy74's picture

Not meant to sound mean Steve, but 'Woo Hoo!'. My single speed just might have a chance then... ;o)

Muninjitsu's picture

Huh, Paul! The tandem will be out to play. Maybe we should ride the beach cruiser!

Dutchy74's picture

Damn... how to sabotage a tandem?? I can't keep up with you guys downhill even on the Giant. Maybe you should be forced to do a role reversal on the bike? Now that would be mean!

Muninjitsu's picture

it would certainly be interesting, would could throw an unaware stoker on!

Pedalgogy's picture

I still have the same relic from last year.

Dutchy74's picture

Is it slow?

Pedalgogy's picture

Not really, but it is very old and bumpy.

Chuck's picture

What are the bumps from Steven? Rust spots under the paint?

Muninjitsu's picture

Everyone be sure to bring your co2 inflators, Chuck can dispose of them for us.

Dutchy74's picture

Is that to fill my lungs up with when I'm spinning at 120 rpm just to maintain 30kms/hr? ;o)

Pedalgogy's picture

120rpm at 30k ????? You must be going single speed?

Dutchy74's picture

Yeah, that's the only clunker I have. I haven't ridden it for quite a while so I haven't changed the rear cog to a more suitable ratio. The downside with gaining more top end speed is then the climbs up, so I'm reluctant to change. That being said, the most time to be lost would be the long downhill from the Heli-pad.

Chuck's picture

So who's riding what this year?

What are the odds someone will have to carry their ride out this year?

Muninjitsu's picture

Tandem, at least I will only have to carry half a bike.

hathill's picture

As long as we are only carrying bikes out and not riders it'll be fine.

Username2's picture

So, who's riding what?

Any changes from last year?

Chuck's picture

I'll be on a different bike this year, my HardRock has been retired for now. Not sure yet what I'll be riding yet.

What are you riding Rory?

Username2's picture

I'll be on the blue machine as per the last build day...*now with gum wall tyres
