I'll be there, no matter what the weather.
Ride Database Entry:
The Oaks
Meeting Point:

Glenbrook Station Carpark.

-33.769197, 150.622262 (Glenbrook Station Carpark)
Details:

This will be the classic Oaks route from Woodford to Glenbrook station via the firetrail then single track and then the last technical section at the end but with a twist it will be in the dark. I expect this ride will be a lot of fun especially the single track in the dark.

The pace will be social with a stop or two along the way to wait for straglers.

The plan is to meet at Glenbrook train station carpark and be ready and organised to go by 7.30pm to catch a train at 7.42pm arriving at Woodford by 8.13pm (straglers can catch up at Woodford if you miss the train) the trip down will take about an hour to an hour and a half.

Its a Friday night so maybe a drink somwhere local afterwards or bring something along to have at the end of the trail.

Cloudy but no rain, roads are wet due to some earlier light rain, but looks good for the ride tonight.

Had a great ride last night thanks to all that showed up.

The single track at night is an absolute blast I am still grinning from ear to ear. And Once again the 29er proved to be amazing the big wheels saved my arse last night on the last bit of technical single track on a 26inch bike I would of been a goner on a very dodgy line that I miss judged in the dark.

Damien I loved to ride and Friday night seems a perfect time to have a late one.

Maybe we should plan a few more away night rides to places like Ourimbah, Gosford way (Terrigal/Erina), etc

Damien's picture

Yes Friday is a perfect night to have a late one and I would be up for more fun end of week rides a bit further away than the usual Terry Hills or Manly. We had a pretty good turn out considering the weather and the distance some of us travelled.

I really enjoyed riding down and by riding back up I got a long ride in on Friday, getting home at 12.40am after a ride was a new thing for me but I wouldn't hesitate doing it again, as there's only 95 days left to the 24hr and not a minute to lose, all my rides are getting longer, and going daily now, may post a Hazo night ride next Friday, any takers? You know you want to Damien, also it's safe to do 1st time at night.

I would like to John but my life for the next three weeks is going to be turned upside down as soon as everything settles down I will be up for that ride definitely.
