Christmas Social Ride and BBQ
Mount Canobolas Summit
To celebrate the end of 2014 the club is organising a social mountain bike ride, followed by a BBQ at Lake Canobolas on Saturday 13th December.
We'll meet at the summit of Mt Canobolas at 9am (you can ride up if you're keen or organise a shuttle up - I'm sure we can organise this between us if needed), and we'll ride down the mountain via fireroads and 'other tracks' to the teahouse, then time/weather/legs permitting we'll do a loop of the lake tracks before going across the road to the lake for a relaxing BBQ at approx 12.30-1pm.
Withdrawn: 26 inch Rear wheel
Note that this is "Withdrawn" so is here for archive purposes only.
Looking for a 26 inch, 135 QR rear wheel in reasonable condition. Preferably centrelock but...
Matching front would be nice too but not essential.
PM to deal with your offerings and we can go from there.
Thanks
Hazo evening social
Back parking lot at Hazelbrook shops - Corner Oaklands Rd & GWH
Thursday night social ride. Bring lights as we'll probably be going after sunset.
Will only be cancelled if the rain is very heavy. A little drizzle shouldn't be too bad and the trails should dry up a little over the course of tomorrow.
Hopefully with daylight savings we can put on a few more of these over spring/summer.
Clean Up Kinross Forest this Saturday afternoon - help needed!
The city of Orange is around 4 hrs from Sydney and 3 hrs from Canberra. Kinross State Forest is situated on the northeast edge of town, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute ride from the Orange town centre.
Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest.
Drive out from Orange on the Ophir Rd, before you reach the rubbish tip, turn right onto Bulgas Rd. Follow this about 2km to the forest (the road turns to gravel).
Note that the 'Directions there' google maps link below may not give the best route/destination. It seems that google maps ignores Bulgas Rd when selecting a route and gives the next closest spot. The 'Meeting point' link should be correct.
Clean up day at Kinross Forest to prepare for the Singletrack Mind race the next weekend.
I know it's a dirty and thankless task, but it'd be great to see as many boots on the ground as possible on Saturday so that we can get the forest (or at least the most visible parts of it) looking like a location you would actually like to ride in! Our tracks at Kinross are awesome and have had so much work put into them over the years, it's sad to see the environment so degraded...
Oaks up and down
Glenbrook station carpark.
Some good climbing and good descent with a few kilometers of great singletrack at the end to finish it off. Early start to escape the heat.
A quick summary from the ride last Saturday
Distance 57.0km
Elevation 1,234m
Moving Time 2:55:28
Out of towner(s) going for a lap of Kinross
