I am considering a ride at Narrowneck Saturday morning - Anyone know what the weather has been like and track conditions or any alternatives?

Thanks

new to blue mountians new help

Hi
Can anyone give some advise on a day trip down the blue mountians.
What I would like to do is get a train up the blue mountians with a couple of friends and spend the day biking.
The plan was to drive to a hotel at the base of the blue mountians or somewher along the way, put the bikes on at train with us and start some where up the mountians. We then want to stay in a hotel where we started from for the night and have dinner and a few drinks. Any advise would be greatly appriciated.
Cheers,
Kevin

Do you recognise this voice?

Detectives are still seeking the identity of a Triple Zero caller who provided information about a Blue Mountains bushfire that occurred in October. The Triple Zero caller, or anyone who recognises his voice, is asked to contact Katoomba Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Tourist needs info about mtb in the Blue Mountains

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

G'Day,

I'm going to visit Australia in January 2012 for my first time. At the end of my stay there are a few days left and I'm thinking about mountainbiking in the Blue Mountains. Unfortenately it's harder than I thought to find any information about in the web.

So I hope that you can give me these information or can give me some advice where I can find them.

I think I'm going to Katoomba by train, and I'm searching for:
- recommended accommodation
- bike rental ( where, available bike models, prices .... )
- bike tours; guided or available GPS-tracks

Knapsack Reserve Dirt Jumps (Lennox Bridge Jumps)

Hey guys, i have recently been to these jumps located just off olivet street, and i noticed how large they are in size. I can personally jump these, but i know that beginners are often discouraged, and will not fully make use of this interim dirt jump site. It would be great if some of the original jumps could be reduced in size, or made as tabletops, or maybe other smaller jumps could be built in this area. I would gladly help with any issues regarding these trails and there development, either it be a dig day or whatever.
Thanks, csrides.

Hazard Reduction smoke

To any who are considering riding in the mid mountains this weekend, especially Winmalee, Yellomundee etc, there are 2 hazard reduction burns taking place at Wheeny Gap and the Vale of Avoca, which are dumping loads of smok into the area.

From our back deck looking out towards Springwood Ridge and Grose Head South is as hazy as I've seen it in a long time. It stinks.

Besides that, get fair up it!

Mitchells Pass Closure

Hi all, well Mitchells Pass is now closed to all, they have put wire fences up each end while stabilization repairs are carried out to the cliff line. I believe the road will be re opened at the end of the month to vehicular traffic.

Thanks to all those that helped a fallen comrade at the Oaks today

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Just a shout out to all those that helped out our mate, Tristan today at the Oaks.

Rob S and a few others helped out with first aid and equipment after Tristan fishtailed out and faceplanted into the rut at the sharp left juncture about 3 clicks from the Woodford entry.
He was out cold, copped a broken cheekbone and concussed and was airlifted out.

Again just a huge show of thanks for the mtb comraderie and Tristan is doing well and sends his thanks for those that helped!
