Kinross Forest
OMC Winter Series Round 3
The city of Orange is around 4 hrs from Sydney and 3 hrs from Canberra. Kinross State Forest is situated on the northeast edge of town, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute ride from the Orange town centre.
Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest.
Drive out from Orange on the Ophir Rd, before you reach the rubbish tip, turn right onto Bulgas Rd. Follow this about 2km to the forest (the road turns to gravel).
Note that the 'Directions there' google maps link below may not give the best route/destination. It seems that google maps ignores Bulgas Rd when selecting a route and gives the next closest spot. The 'Meeting point' link should be correct.
Race 3 of 3 in the Orange Mountain Bike Club Winter Series. The race will be preceded by a free skills session where you'll be given bike handling advise and some hot tips for the track. Riders of all all ages and skill levels are welcome.

Clean up day at Kinross Forest to prepare for the Singletrack Mind race the next weekend.
I know it's a dirty and thankless task, but it'd be great to see as many boots on the ground as possible on Saturday so that we can get the forest (or at least the most visible parts of it) looking like a location you would actually like to ride in! Our tracks at Kinross are awesome and have had so much work put into them over the years, it's sad to see the environment so degraded...
Tour guide required
Hi Guys , I am traveling through Orange ( and Dubbo ) next Wednesday 7th August (and Thursday 8th Dubbo)and would love to ride Kinross or similar , but I don't know the area and was hoping to find someone to ride with for an hour or so after work
If I cant find anyone willing to ride with a slow to medium paced middle aged sales rep , are the trails signposted really well ( I've been known to get lost on a football field)
Any heads up on this would be appreciated guys

Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest. Some events are held at the alternative race hub near the top of the north Shore track.
***Cancelled*** - it's too wet. Having just played soccer I can report that the weather is horrible and wet and wet and windy and I think a race tomorrow won't be any fun to organise or ride in. It will also probably rip up the tracks. The forecast does not give any confidence that it will dry out much before tomorrow. If it's looking not too bad then some of us might go out for just a relaxed social ride at the same time (10am). But maybe not too If we do meet at the car park.

To make sure that our trails are in good nick for the big Single Track Mind 7hr Race on the 29th April (the following weekend) we are looking for helpers to come out to work on a few sections of track Sunday morning.
There's also a few bits of illegally dumped rubbish that would be good to remove too.
If anyone knows of any spots on the STM track that need work then let us know. On the whole the track is riding pretty well but we might as well have a crack.
I believe we mostly need to work on:
- The top of "Bogan's run" just before dead pig dam
