Thursday night Hazo social
Hazelbrook Shops lower car park.
We are going to do a ride around Hazelbrook Thursday night, route to be decided on the night. I can guarantee some nice big techy climbs, fast descents and some single track fun. Please bring at least one good front light and a rear light as we will return on the road after sunset.
Please make sure you're ready to roll at 6:30!!
Mt Portal, Euroka, Bennetts, Oaks Gate and singletrack down
Little carpark opposite Glenbrook shops
If you like climbing steep hills, you'll love Mt Portal!
Bring your lights along, should be out for about two hours in all. If there's fuel left in the tank and it's not too late I might head to knapsack afterwards too.
Part oaks up and back (Change of plans, now it's coathanger)
Glenbrook park, Carpark opposite shops
Trying to get some KM's up on the bike before work gets hectic again.
Aiming to head up from glenbrook to the helipad, or maybe even keep going depending on the mood, then singletrack back down. All welcome, Bring your lights if you're coming.
Glenbrook NP extended coathanger loop
Glenbrook park, carpark opposite shops
I'm heading out for a casual loop in the national park, Mt Portal-Euroka-Bennets Ridge-Single track. Anyone is welcome to tag along, but you had better bring your lights.
Timmy & Chuck's Christmas ride & BBQ
Glenbrook Park. In the small car park opposite the shops.
A loop around Knapsack Reserve and then back to Glenbrook Park for a byo BBQ.
All welcome!!
EOY Scribble
Usual
Get those Christmas pudding backsides on ya bike and come out for an end-of-year scribble. All welcome.
Early start to beat the heat, but if it looks like a cool day, I might set it back to 08:30.
Kinross/Canobolas
The city of Orange is around 4 hrs from Sydney and 3 hrs from Canberra. Kinross State Forest is situated on the northeast edge of town, a 10 minute drive or 20 minute ride from the Orange town centre.
Meet at the Bulgas Road carpark, Western edge of the forest.
Drive out from Orange on the Ophir Rd, before you reach the rubbish tip, turn right onto Bulgas Rd. Follow this about 2km to the forest (the road turns to gravel).
Note that the 'Directions there' google maps link below may not give the best route/destination. It seems that google maps ignores Bulgas Rd when selecting a route and gives the next closest spot. The 'Meeting point' link should be correct.
I'm going for a ride...was going to check out some DH type tracks around Canobolas and/or do some riding around Kinross, I'm yet to explore all the tracks. Would be more fun with others.
Lap of Woodford Dam and the single track.
Car park behind Hazelbrook shop's. Meet by the new amenities block.
We are going to do a lap of Woodford Dam then over the highway, ride the single track and maybe out via Terrace Falls.
Sunday Stringline
Glenbrook Oval, Hare St, Glenbrook NSW. Near the skate park. Ride down Moore Street to the start of trail that leads into the main park around the gate.
We ask visitors to please park here to not affect the residents. Plenty of parking plus amenities.
So, unfortunately I was in Canada when the new DH trail opened, so I'm finally getting a chance to head up there!
I'll be bringing one mate along, so if more than 3 others want to rock up we'll need another shuttle vehicle (as I can do 5).
C'mon, who wants to show me down the new trail! Kingy, I'm looking at you!
Knapsack XC ride
Knapsack Oval, end of Levy Street Glenbrook
Following a GPX link I downloaded into the Garmin for first lap. After that will probably do more laps or just explore for a couple more hours. Trying to get some km's in after 5 week illness so not looking to stop too often but won't be a cracking pace either. I suspect somewhere between the 15-20km/hr mark on average
