Kings School Mtn bike park

Below is a preview, click to read the full post

Here are the clues i have seen.
As most are aware. DIRT ART have begun construction on the Knapsack reserve Downhill trail. While hiring for trail builders they where looking for locals to the Blue Mountains and Parramatta.

A week or 2 ago Dirt art FB page mentioned a Mountain bike park contract for a Sydney Private school. I had questioned them on this and they said it would be announced later.

In a recent Dirt art fb post the mentioned Kings School Mtn bike park.

Hi guys, Ive been around for a bit but this is my first post here. (awesome site, your effort is greatly appreciated)
Living reasonably close to Parramatta the reserve at the lake is my local after or before work track.
Personally it sickens me that Parramatta council aren't willing to open up more of the reserve to cyclists
(yet they seem to turn a blind eye to the idiots that take motor cross bikes and 4x4's in there from the north rocks (seville reserve) side)(or the dog walkers that seem to think there's an exception to their dog being on a lead and cleaning up its sh*t)

Yellomundee conditions?

NB: Originally posted elsewhere on the Global Riders Network and appears via syndication.

Hello,

Does anyone know how wet Yellomundee is right now and whether it is ridable this Saturday? Also, I have never ridden that track before - is it easy to navigate?

Cheers,
Zoltan

Hey Guys

Im out Castle Hill way on Saturday and I've been looking around for places to ride out there.

One of the guys at work recommended
Fred Caterson (aka FredCat) reserve

I notice here on Nobmob that Parramatta park has a good track however the guy at work thought that it was now only paved path. Can anyone confirm the MTB trails still exist, are open and worth the ride?

Cheers

Yellomundee Repairs Underway

Repairs to the track and surrounding areas at Yellomundee Regional Park (YRP) have kicked off in a big way. This follows the erosion damage caused by the heavy rainfall in Jan-April. On Saturday 12 May 2012, volunteers from WSMTB & BMORC along with NPWS staff and equipment repaired the entrance road areas just off Hawkesbury Rd and into the event carpark. Over 20 tonnes of imported crushed sandstone was used - paid for by WSMTB, and organised by NPWS Ranger Paul Glass. The NPWS bobcat was worked hard all day by Mick Chard (NPWS) - he did a great job.

News: Cyclists rebuffed at Lake Parramatta "They don’t want their nice, quiet walks interrupted by a collision with a MTB"

Parramatta councillors decide against extra tracks at Lake Parramatta. Cr Julia Finn said some mountain bike riders had not remained on the fire trail and damaged vegetation.

“I don’t like people coming to council when they’ve done the wrong thing,” she said. “People treasure the serenity of Lake Parramatta. and they’re happy for it to stay hidden. They don’t want their nice, quiet walks interrupted by a collision with a mountain bike.”
