Rydal Dig day
The main rd in has been dusty as all get up so in an effort to keep on the good side of the locals it might be best to come in via the showground.
From the highway come into Rydal, cross the train tracks and take a left before the Pub (Showground signposted.)
Go around the top side of the show ground and follow the road around to the left. This will take you around towards the top side of the cemetery. from there a couple of cross rd will bring you back tot he bicentennial trail and thus the car park
Having a bit of a dig day to do a bit more work on The diggings and Snake Trails
I'll be heading out around 2 but if you can get there earlier or later go for it. We'll be up the far end so will drive up and park along side the area where we will working.

Was taken with the contour set up under the seat looking back. Hope you enjoy
Tough day on the bike
I knew I hadn't done as much riding as I would have liked leading into this one but I was feeling pretty good and was reasonably confident.
I got off to a good start up the fire trail and entered the single trail in the lead and settled down into a tempo and rhythm I was comfortable with.
Back out on the fire trail Beggsie blasts past near the top of the hill. I was feeling good and thought of challenging but in my last race (round #1) I rode much better by just sticking to my own tempo so Beggs hits the main ST a little in front of me.

All this wind has dropped a heap of trees, branches, debris and stuff blocking the trail.
Richard spent 6hrs out there cleaning up the short track up on his own last weekend so it would be good to get some more bodies out there this weekend to finish cleaning up the back section.
Bring the usual trail tools, bush saws and bikes for a lap or two after we finish.

OK, we got rained out last week but how about we hit Rydal this week.
I'm thinking the do a lap of the track and then go for a bit of an explore on the Lidsdale Southside trails.
We should be able to follow the train access rd out toward the highway and cut back down to Link rd, Hit up Parto's loops and then follow the Moto trail back to the cemetery.
Some steep hill climbs in amongst the moto stuff but nothing overly long.
2011 CTMBC Winter XC series #3
From the highway come into Rydal and take a sharp left after crossing the railway. Follow the dirt road up past the houses. *Please* Be mindful of the locals, they bought places here to get away from the rat race so take it slow and keep noise to a minimum.
At the top of the hill take the left fork and follow the road past the cemetery.
Back to $10 entry fee this week as state forest fees have gone up
$5 for juniors
$15 for a day license
Please remember the dirt road leading to the cemetery is a residential street and we don't want to up set the locals so go slow and keep noise down... Actually considering the dust last week it might be best to go in via the showground so take the left before the pub and head around the top of the showground and follow the rd around to the left to just before the cemetery then duck back down to the Bicentennial trail and thus the car park
Start
